At this point I wouldn't want the Nets to trade Smoky for either Young, thought I wasn't happy back then. I'm delighted with what I've read about this kid over the summer.

Are you kidding me?? When I found out about this kid, I was looking forward to the Nets drafting him.
I'm so glad we picked him up now, I believe he'll do some impressive things on this team. He's a good rebounder, great shotblocker, even pretty good at scoring.

I would have been happy with him or Big Baby. I actually wasn't that sold on Young. Not that I don't think he can't become a player, but I think we had bigger needs elsewhere. I also think that although we drafted for need, we didn't take Sean too early.

Washington is very high on Nick Young. There was an article in the Washington Post yesterday just raving about him. Right now, the Wizards have just 13 signed players--one of which is Etan Thomas--and they will likely go with that roster to avoid the cap. So, they must be pretty confident that Nick Young will be able to contribute, because he is going to play. As for Thornton, Julian Wright, Thad Young, and the players taken after Sean Williams that the Nets probably considered, Belinelli, Rudy Fernandez, Splitter, and Jason Smith, only time will tell whether Sean was the right pick. Chances are that at least one of those players will be better than Sean Williams when all is said and done, but who knows who it will be at this point. Apparently Belinelli is having problems playing defense so who knows how much he would have played as a Net.

haha just checking ;-)
I think Bells is going to have a good season this year. When I saw that Dumpy dropped him from his fantasy team I swiped him right up

When I saw that Dumpy dropped him from his fantasy team I swiped him right up

he's been having trouble on the defensive side, and I think Martell Webster and McCants will just play more, at least for the first few months of the season. If it was a weekly lineup league, I may well have kept him.

QUOTE (peg182)

Bellini, cpaw?? Wait, I thought you liked Fernandez.
Who was the one who wanted Fernandez..?

I like both of them, but Marco was higher on my list, plus he would be able to play this season.

Leon Powe had a great preseason game against us last season as well. All i'm saying as far as Glen goes is lets see it happen again. Nothing against him but I am more than happy with Sean on our team. I won't say he's gonna be the answer to our bigman needs but he's exactly what we've been looking for the past couple seasons and I can't wait to watch him grow as a player.

Al Thornton is going to be a nice player this year. But Williams is a high risk high reward player. The only person I would have like to see drop was Brandan Wright/Al Horford.

after sean williams dunks ona couple of superstars in the league and swats their shot out of the building his confidence and game will improve...i don't really care about his mental state as long as its k-mart/dennis rodman-crazy and not eddie griffin-crazy.

marcus williams was the best rookie in preseason last year and antoine wright was the highest scoring sophomore...it's too early...

Before the draft I was hoping the Nets would have a chance at Nick or Thad Young, and I'd still rather have either one on the team. But Williams is certainly showing he's got some talent. Hopefully he will stay motivated and out of trouble.
