http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7379630?MSNHPHMA
Good to see that Athletic scholarship @ UF wasn't a complete loss.
Oh, look. I'm critcizing a phins player.

Earlier this season, a reporter threw Joey Porter a curve by asking a question that contained the word "residual." I don't expect all Dolphin players to be card carrying members of Mensa, but give me a break. I do hope Crowder was just clowning.

Print up a world map without any labels and walk around any mall in the US and randomly ask people to point out London....I bet you wont bat .400

For most people, the location of London or any other city on another continent, or anything else about London is not topical....it wont help them get a job, it wont help them feed their family, it wont help them make the mortgage payment so I dont blame them for not knowing or caring....we are at a place in human history where geography is all but meaningless becasue the barriers have broken down....need directions? check your GPS....want to make friends with a foreigner? jump on the net....need to know about another country? google it....Im willing to bet that less than 40% of the people on this site could point to London on a blank map and get within 50 miles of it....

I agree w/ all of your previous post except...

QUOTE (TheBeef)

we are at a place in human history where geography is all but meaningless becasue the barriers have broken down

I could go on about how Geography determines History. Rather, I'll just give one example the Mormon Pioneers relocated to the SL Valley in 1847 and up until the 1980's were relativelyisolated & it showed.
Geography is not just descrptive i.e the Capital of Washington is Olympia. Geography is a study of man & his interaction w/ the enviromennt across space and time. I dare someone to go to wikipedia or google and search Geographic Information systems and tell me that a rudimentary knowledge og Geography is not important
But, then I'm kind of odd and not because I'm a Utah native.... well not this time anyway. lol.

That is sad. I know America is great and everything but does it kill to know atleast where other countries are?

He didnt say he cant find England, he said he cant find London....seriously, go get a blank map and point out Chicago or Dallas or Denver and see if you can get within 50 miles....im betting you cant....
