Adding a #1 CB will improve the whole unit. The front 7 w/ Porter will be fierce. If they were the #4 D last year. These 2 additions might put them up there w/ the 85 Bears & 2000 Ravens</div>
What are you smoking? lol They have a few aging vets that are HOF potential but other than that this D is in desperate need of a youth movement.</div>
You'd know. The Pats LB corps could do a commercial for AARP.

Further, don't buy into the media's perception of the phins. Yes, Zach & JT are getting up there. Vonnie H & Joey P are veterans.

Kevin Carter and Wilkinson are gone which reduces the age. Traylor may be gone too.

They have Manny Wright, Rod Wright, Matt Roth, Vickerson, Travis Daniels, & Jason Allen all acquired during the Saban era.

True but the DL is young & all locked up which is the most important piece to any D. But then I'm not comparing them to the greatest of all time either. [IMG]

It is surprising that you aren't saying the Pats are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

If you reread my rationale for Revis, I did put the conditional "might" in there.... I even emphasized it so there's be no misperception.... WTBH was I thinking?... So much for attempting to be pragmatic & a little less subjective than others.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder)</div><div class='quotemain'>AP to the Vikings at first didn't make sense but if I recall the Vikings went w/ RB by committee last yr.</div>
Chester Taylor has over 300 carries and ran over 1000 yards. He had a pretty good year for someone who just signed a big contract. I don't think they'd take AP at all. DE, S, or QB in my opinion is their pick.

Honestly, if AP is available at #7, then yes, you take him. Without a doubt you take him. Getting a big time running back like him if he's available almost always make sense.

Do the Vikings need a running back? Not really - I think we have a good group of backs right now, but if they had the opportunity to pick up a star like AP will be, then I think you have to do that.

The other option would have been to move down in the draft, but I came in late and didn't have time to see if anything was available. LL was a close second, but I can't pass up on AP.

Say the first top 6 picks of this draft were correct. Do you think the Vikings take AP? I think they'd go with Landry or Anderson over AP. You think Childress and the Front Office would be willing to pretty much make AP the future RB and end up releasing Chester Taylor probably in a year or two? This considering the money they have invested in Taylor and his production last year was pretty good. One of the few bright spots on the team.

If I were running things I'd trade down for a receiver like Bowe or Meachem. Gain extra picks because the Vikings have a lot of needs in my opinion.

For what it's worth if Thomas had been taken at #2 I probably would've selected Peterson at #3 for the Browns.

There is no doubt that CT ran well last year, but then again, CT also set a team record for most carries in a season.

Would the Vikings pass on AP? I think the more likely scenario is that they would try to trade down, but you can't always trade down and get the value you want. If they were not able to trade down, I can totally see them taking AP at 7. I don't think we have to worry, though, there is no way that he is available at 7.

I actually think he's the most likely player to fall right now. I think if Oakland goes with Russell and Detroit Joe Thomas then Cleveland is probably going to take Quinn #3. The Front Office seems to be leaning towards him from most reports. If that's the case then he could fall.

I think he or Quinn could fall very easily.

Vikings seem like a team that really wants to trade down. They are badly in need of WRs, but at 7 Bowe, Meachem, Ginn and Jarrett would be reaches. Ginn and Jarrett havent even run 40s yet so we dont know where they are gonna fall. I would advocate them trading to the around the 20 spot and picking Dwyane Bowe, who is a physical guy that at his pro day ran around a low 4.4

What do we think the 49ers do here? I think defense is almost a certainty. The could go for a CB or DL. My guess would be Alan Branch.

They went Defense Heavy this Free Agency. If Ted Ginn can prove his foot isn't going to slow him down I think they'd take him because they really have nobody to play WR unless you believe Ashley Lelie can get it done on his own. However Ginn has that uncertainty because of the foot. I'd say they go for Ginn because of his upside but Branch is definitely a possibility as well. Patrick Willis makes a lot of sense too. I read Nolan really liked him at the Senior Bowl.

I think the 49ers would love to take a reciever in the draft but Jarrett and Ginn at this point are sitting out of the top 20 picks. The 49ers want to fully go to a 3-4, but cant because of a lack of a NT. So I think they take Alan Branch who could be a boom or bust NT. He certainly has the size, but the effort just isnt there all the time.

I think you rate the WRs alot lower than most & I wasn't aware they cut Antonio Bryant. Well BearNole has 1 more day I believe right?

Jarrett's stock is bad because of his rumored 40 time in workouts. If he runs well at the pro day his stock will jump really high.

Geez, I haven't even posted in this thread (just got around to reading it) and dare I say it? Where's the Beef? Bakes, Bakes, Bakes, I wouldn't challange you nearly as much if you just provided a modicum of support for your ...oh wait....then they wouldn't be baseless accusations. [IMG] I will admit to being surprised that NFL.com didn't have up to date rosters and depth charts so that I could figure out the average age of the Dolphins defense vs the Patriots defense. I guess I will have to try and find a site later when I have time.
