Carriker is a great pick. He can play DE in both the 3-4 & 4-3 IMO. I don't think Carriker could play a 3-4 OLB any more than Matt Roth in Miami could.

I think ideally the Pats would like to see Patrick Willis fall to them instead of Carriker, but adding depth at DE is never a bad move. With another pick coming up very shortly I'd rather not mention the other names I considered lol but they should be obvious.

It seems that the Pats always draft a TE. :einstein:

Jets are on the clock. They could use help on the DL. DTs DeMarcus Tyler & Marcus Thomas would give NY the option to move previous #1 pick Robertson to DE. Or if they want to keep him at DT they could select Charles Johnson. Other suggestions?

Jets could go secondary; Hall (Michigan) & Ross & Griffin (Texas) are still available.

I'm up for going as far as possible for as long as possible.

I may even let Bakes do pick #60. No need to say thanks because your Welker.

Yeah. Wes is now eligible for instant enshrinement in Canton. [IMG]

Everything he did previously will be thought of as football's equivalent of a mulligan. [IMG]

Not to worry I'm sure the folks at the Miami Herald & other South Florida media members will collectively make a wise choice. They are afterall who Wayne looks to for advice on his franchise right? [IMG]

Well. There you go again. Trusting the media but then the media loves the pats, so...

p.s At least, Wayne trusts the general populace. Unlike the regime in the Greater Providence/Boston area. rofl

Merriwether should be a good player for the Pats and fills an area of need for them.

I am surprised that Bakes did not select a TE or DE/LB (Vrabel is getting up there in age).

Most of all, I'd like to thank Bakes for not taking one of the players I'm considering acquiring on behalf of the defending champs.

My only dilemma is; Will I be the ultimate homer?
