The Bills travel to the Meadowlands on Sunday for an AFC Eastmatchup with the skidding New York Jets. On September 30, Buffalo eked out a 17-14 win over the Jets,which started a four-game spiral by New York. That contest snapped a season-opening three-game losing streakby the Bills and marked the debut of rookie quarterback TrentEdwards, who made his first start in place of an injured J.P.Losman. Edwards went 22-of-28 for 234 yards with one touchdown and oneinterception in the first meeting, and his play has invigoratedthe Bills, who are coming off a 19-14 victory over the BaltimoreRavens. Losman is healthy now but coach Dick Jauron on Tuesday announcedhe is sticking with Edwards, a third-round pick out of Stanfordwho is 2-1 in his three starts - with the lone loss a crushinglast-second defeat to the Dallas Cowboys. The Bills also got a solid performance from rookie running backMarshawn Lynch, who rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown. In the first meeting between the teams, Lynch rushed for 79yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. Coach Eric Mangini promised to shake up his team followingSunday's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in which the Jets blew a23-10 second-half lead. Mangini said every position will be re-evaluated, including thatof quarterback Chad Pennington. New York's only victory thisseason is over the winless Miami Dolphins. "I'm going to look at everything," Mangini said. "I'm going tolook at everything and really evaluate it across the board andsee where we can gain some more consistency. It applies to allthe areas." Pennington had one of his better games, completing 20-of-31passes for three touchdowns, but he threw a killer interceptionthat was returned for a touchdown with 37 seconds to play,capping a run of 28 unanswered points by the Bengals. Laveranues Coles was one of the few bright spots for New York,hauling in eight catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns. The teams split their two meetings last season, with eachwinning on the road.
