I was wondering is there any American Football managers games?

I don't know if your familiar with the Soccer Manager games genre here in the UK/Ireland. They allow you to control all aspects of a soccer team but you don't actually get to play the matches. Tactics, trainning, players salaries, transfers etc., are all in your control

I don't really understand tactics in American Football, a game of this sort would be ideal to help me learn defensive/offinsive stratagies, tactics, terms etc.

Is there any similar games for American Football?

    Welcome to the site.

For the manager game you were mentioning I run something very similar to that. It's an online Madden Sim League. I don't know how familiar you are with John Madden. He's a Hall of Fame Coach and is an announcer here in America. He also has a game that is very popular.

Anyways the concept of an online madden sim league is you get to be the GM of your team. You get to control all aspects of what the GM pretty much does. It's an online Madden Franchise. You do signings, trades, depth charts, etc.. I sim the games over AOL Instant Messenger. I usually do 4 games a week.

The League I run is basically brand new. We are going to be simming Weeks 5 and 6.

Would you be interested in this?

If so I'll send you the links you'll need.

Also you can only have one team and the Saints are already taken so you'd have to take one of the open teams.

The Open teams are Browns, Texans, Raiders, Bills, Bears, Rams, Cowboys, and Redskins.

The link below is the Home Page where you can browse through everything. I list injuries, standings, awards, etc...

    http://www.freewebs.com/fmsl/index.htm

Here is where you can browse through the current rosters. All the open teams should be the same. If you browse enough you'll see some different players on different teams because of trades that have occured.

    http://www.freewebs.com/fmsl/teamsrosters.htm

Here is the forum where all the transactions take place. This is where you post your depth charts. Post any trades that you and another GM agreed to. I then process everything on the game.

    Any questions just ask me.

    VF,

I hope it's okay that I'm posting these links. This is almost exactly what he was asking for.

This is the game that you want. I'm a late comer to this game, but it's still very fun even a year after its release.

Sounds like a fantasy football league on steroids, but can be played at any time of the year.

PS2 and I sim them. Right now we are on Week 13. Off Season should start in about two weeks.

FMSL is basically an online Madden Franchise. Every game will be simulated on a certain date by the simmer. The simmer will have control over everything on the game but you will control your team. Like in an Madden Franchise you get control over you player contracts, depth chart, coaching philosophy, drafts, resigning, and free agents.

Use the following links to get a better idea of how this works.

Things you need to know about Trading

    Articles

    Press Conference

    Depth Charts

    Signing Players during the Season

Information on off season features will be posted when we get there. It seems difficult but it's easy to catch on. Any questions just ask me.

This is the link to the home page

Browse through this for rosters and other stuff. All stats get requested in a certain area of the forum and I get them to you as soon as I can.
