Packers Awarded Compensatory 7th Round Draft Pick

Not really what we want! We wanted FA not draft picks. At least I do.

How unfair. The best we got was a 4th rounder possibly for Chester Taylor, I'd expected at least a third. Maybe AD to the Patriots might award us a third next year.

Using sarcasm to try and deflect the fact that the NFL just gave the Patriots four free chances to find a gem in the draft isn't a trick that fools the DWO. The awarding of compensatory picks is one of the parts of the game that I don't like. It's too subjective and gives palm greasers a chance to buy an edge.

how easily you forget when you all harped on how foolish the Pats brain trust was for letting so many key free agents go

Your telling me that the Patriots front office purposely let those free agents go so they would reap a windfall of compensatory picks this year? Yeah, right. I just don't believe the Patriots front office should be rewarded for stupidity. The GM's job is to make a decision about keeping players or letting them go. Why should they get picks for letting players go? I'm sure Adam V. is happy about being let go. He got another Super Bowl ring out of the deal.

No I'm saying you leave out the facts that don't benefit your point. This is an arbitrary decision agreed upon by the owners. This isn't some conspiracy to keep the Pats Dynasty afloat.

You're basically falling in line with the national media's view that the loss of Vinatieri is what made the difference between winning & losing that AFC title game which is not only ignorant but wrong. Locking up Adam early on if possible would've been wise, but shelling out $3 mil per year for a kicker would have been far more "stupid" IMO.

Where did I say the signing of Adam V. made the difference between the Colts and the Patriots this year? Do you have an actual quote or should I throw this, with the "ignorant" and "wrong" labels, in the baseless accusation pile? I said that it might the difference before they met last year, but never said it did after they met. However, the story isn't over yet. Adam V. hasn't retired. The Colts and Patriots could meet in a pivital game this season and Adam might get an opportunity to kick the Patsies out of the playoffs. (or the Patsies kicker, whatshisname, might not make a kick that Adam would have) Besides, all I said was that Adam V. must be glad that the Patriots let him go to the Colts because he got another Super Bowl ring out of the deal. How slowly must I type these posts so that people can keep up. Geez.

DPG, are you talking to me?

Dale, As I recall someone said the Pats lost to Miami on purpose to close out the 2k5 season as they had nothing to gain... except higher playoff seed & a Flutie drop kick.

I have no problem w/ the Pats gaining picks but its not because its a conspiracy (I can't believe I typed that... I'm off to the hospital to see if I'm okay) but its because Pioli & Belichick are the NFL's equivalent of Mensa. [IMG]

BTW; The paragraph above is a perfect example of sarcasm. As are these sentences.

Your gonna have to make that three as I say this is about the AFCE.

After further review, the subject title says compensatory picks. The way this topic has evolved its still tangentially related to compensatory picks.

Yeah please let's discuss the 243rd pick of the 2007 NFL draft. I'm all a flutter as to whom the Packers might pick here! :surrender:

Bakes. I care [IMG] & think the Pack will go w/ Joe Schmo from Bo Diddley Tech @ this spot.

The 243rd pick may not be "the" irrelevant pick but for all intents it is virtually irrelevant.

I believe I made the topic in the Green Bay Packers forum....So how the HELL does that involve the AFCE? Thank you, and shut up for once.
