I'm sitting here watching the pre-season game vs the Kings, and I just have to vent. Sasha Vujacic is a fkucing idiot. He is still as bad as he was last year, and the year before that. Why do the Lakers still have him on the roster? The guy chucks up far-out mid range jumpers any time he gets the chance, which often is on fast breaks. Does he ever make them? No! This is not just this game I am talking about, it's almost every game he's ever played for the Lakers. Even worse, his defense sucks, and he is a crybaby who, after thinking that he's gotten fouled but doesn't get the call, doesn't get up and try to make up for his mistake with some hustle, but just whines to the refs...

    Anybody with me?

I do remember him making a lot of bone head plays whenever the Lakers played the Nets.

Well, he has actually looked pretty good in the other preseason games so far. I think the Kings game was just an off game. Throughout the preseason, he's been hitting his shots, taking care of the ball, and he's actually been driving to the hoop. I hate Sasha as much as the next guy, but overall, he had a pretty strong preseason. Let's just hope he doesn't revert back to his regular self when the regular season begins.

Sasha seems like just another "annoying European shooter". The type who take stupid shots(that they can't make), and don't play defense. Another one is Pavlobitch, except he's actually been forced to play defense.

And these types of players aren't even limited to European, either, haha. There's a few players from other places like that.

    He's defense isn't bad, though.

That's not really proving anything IMO. I could show you a couple blocks by Bostjan Nachbar, Hakim Warrick, but that doesn't change the fact that they're bad defenders in the NBA. I've seen him play defense in a game, i could imagine it's frustrating for a Lakers fan.

That video was a mere example. He can play defense if he wants to, it's just that the coaching staff has to put their foot down first. I hate players who refuse to play on both ends of the floor, they need to be benched once in a while. That should set them straight.

Definitely agree. Pavlovic is a good example of that...coaches told him he's gotta play defense to get minutes. IMO that's what all coaches should do.

I think that Carl is way better than Sasha and thats why I don't want the Lakers to cut him because I think he deserves a spot in the team he has a great 3 point range.Coby Karl > Sasha Vujacic

that block is pretty weak in my opinion...it's nowhere near Tayshaun Princes block on Reggie..The distance he made up was much larger.

We are talking Sasha Vujacic here, not Pavlovic. So continue that discussion elsewhere.

From what I saw from Coby in the Kings game (I haven't seen the other pre-season games), he seemed like a good shooter, but his defense was just as bad as Sashas, at least if you count the times jumped to block midrange/longrange shots when the shooter hadn't dribbled yet. It's an idiotic mistake but easy to fix.

Yeah he did bite on those jumpshots, but the hip slingshot movement Kevin Martin uses on his jumpshot are so tempting to block. LOL.

Yes i do agree. I'm going to be pretty upset if we offer him a contract extention this year. Also on that note...I don't believe we gave Brian Cook an extention. He is horrible. He can't play defense, post up, drive it in. Only thing he can do is shoot threes sometimes. What a waste.

Unfortunately, we extended Cook last year at $3.5M per season with no increases.
