Did he kinda stare at the camera for to long then kinda mumble out the Nets as his choice between bites of his brownie?

IMO The Nets are older not better and a healthy Krstic is not gonna save the team. Vince is a year older and more likely to settle for the jumper more and more. RJ is a solid not spectacular talent and Kidd's motor is gonna give out eventually. Maybe not this year but one year soon.

The Raptors are more experienced and better IMO, the C's got a tad bit better over the summer and the Nets are gonna have a fight for the last few playoff spots and I wouldn't be surprised if they miss out. Given that they have Kidd, I don't foresee that happening because of his professionalism and pride but this team has had their big Trio for a long time and they've not accomplished much.

Methinks it's time to blow them up.

LMAOOOOOOO!The Nets are older and da celtics(dis crap team dont need caps) are younger right?btw, the celts are the last team in Boston after da Sox,Pats and BC........poor celts

The nets have had their big trio 3 yrs, the Celtics are in their first yr with their 3 all-stars. If the Nets haven't been able to do it while all 3 were younger, what provides the hope that this is the year? As for my point about age.. well it was in regards to the very young Raptors who are a year more experienced and getting better. You can't say VC, RJ or Kidd are a better than they were the last 3 years. As good maybe, but not improved.
I don't live within a day's drive of Boston, I could care less about the other sports teams in that city at all.

Ottawa Ontario.
Grew up a fan of the teams my dad likes. Celtics, Cowboys and Leafs. (baseball... not so much a fan of)
Since moving to Ottawa and the Sens joining the NHL, I've become a Sens fan

Kidd and Carter had to carry teams with little to no bench and we lost our starting center all of last season. Some may call them excuses but I call it the way the cards have landed. Coming into this season RJ is healthier than he's been since VC has been here, Kidd is coming fresh off an olympic run where his teammates notioned he was the team's MVP where his leadership was on display for all to see, and Carter has been working on improving his jumpshot all this summer. While there's no denying age and the improvement on both Boston and Toronto that there is a chance that with those factors I just listed may make our big 3 better than they have been and now they actually have a deep bench where they don't have to carry the entire load leaving them drained come playoff time. We have 2 all stars, a very good 3rd fiddle, young contributors, and veteran depth that were acquired to shore up our major weakenesses as a team so while you keep looking at the big 3 you should be looking at the improvements the team has made as a whole before so easily writing off the Nets.

Hey I may be wrong and the Nets may be good but I believe they're the 3rd best team in the divison and will be a 1 and done playoff team. That doesn't mean they couldn't start the season hot and end up being in 1st after the first month or so, they do have talent on the team. I'm talking about the end of the year.
Still it's early and everyfan (okay not the clippers fans) has reason to be optimistic. We'll have to wait and see how right or wrong I am

QUOTE (lukewarmplay)

Weird. You're a Celtics fan and you don't think the Nets will win the division?

While I am a Celts fan, I'm not a blind nuthugging type fan. If you had asked me last year, I woulda said it was the Nets division to lose.
Toronto was a real surprise and the Nets were injured and a disappointment.
With KG and Ray I like the C's chances to win the division but I also think the Raps will contend and could win the division too.

Is there a team that engenders such disparate viewpoints as the Nets? From ECF contender to low playoff seed to lottery team--you could make an argument that the Nets could end up anywhere, and the so-called experts have done so. In themix for one of the last few playoff spots? It is possible. But I'm an apologist; I can find enough reasonable-sounding excuses for their past two seasons to convince myself that this is a 50+ win team, a team that will have one of the top-three seeds, and is as likely to reach the finals as anyone. I see a team that has suffered major injuries to key personnel, and now has a deeper bench in case that happens again; a team whose stars were embroiled in very distracting personal issues; a team that is led by a player with the greatest will to win in the league. On the other hand, they've shown that they can go a month or longer when they just don't seem to give a shit, where they are nonchallant on defense, and the offense devolves into a Vince Carter shootingfest in the fourth quarter. The truth is that no one has any freaking idea when it comes to this team. But now the talking stops, and the games begin!

QUOTE (Dumpy)

But now the talking stops, and the games begin!

A-MEN!!!

but since we're on these forums.. maybe we can talk a little bit

just thought I'd bump this thread to point out that A: I was wrong about Kidd he's having a great year and B: I was wrong about the Raptors.. apparently no one is gonna challenge the Celtics. Oh but I was right about the Nets and their chances with this current team having passed it by... Enjoy the disappointment that is Vince Carter.. I got to follow his sulking ways with the Raptors and he's good at it... the sulking and giving up that is.
