If you want a big payday chances are you aren't going to win much. If you want to win a title and allow a franchise to continue to build around you then you need to sacrifice some salary and spread it around more. Michael Jordan figured this out when he was winning titles in Chicago. He wasn't even the highest paid player on the team during some of those seasons. He made up his salary through endorsement deals and winning titles made him one of the richest and most powerful sports figures outside the game of basketball.</p> </p>
