QUOTE

Tony Mejia of CBS Sportsline has the absolutely, positively final preseason pundit prediction. And if John Hollinger, with his predictions of doom and gloom, is at one end of the spectrum, Mejia is at the other, predicting: The Nets and Spurs will meet in the Finals, Jason Kidd will be NBA MVP, and Lawrence Frank will be NBA Coach of the Year. While giving hope to Net homers everywhere, Mejia admits his colleagues think he’s crazy.

Spurs-Nets Finals ... How does that sound?

Mejia might have gone a little overboard. But I like it.
He must be one of those (like us), who's tired and sick of hearing about Boston's big 3.
If he only put a little more explanation on his picks, it will probably get more attention. He's consistent though, what can I say? But how can you describe the intangibles ?

He's got a sack that's for sure.
This is also someone who picked the Pacers to beat us in the 2006 playoffs.

Charles Barkely just made the same prediction of a Spurs-Nets final on Pardon the Interruption. Said Kidd is the best leader in the league. That Krstic is coming back and likes the kid from Boston College who, if he "stays off the weed", could be real good.

QUOTE (Real)

This is also someone who picked the Pacers to beat us in the 2006 playoffs.

And everyone knows the Cowboys are better!

Wow...this was an interesting article. Thanks to Netsdaily for providing it.

QUOTE

Sure, a lot of things have to come together. Staying healthy is the chief variable. Getting continued development out of Nenad Krstic and a big season out of key offseason acquisition Jamaal Magloire are a must, but Kidd's presence makes everyone's job easier. He's morphed into Yoda. Very wise, he be. Healthy he stay, wise I look.

Notice that everyone who says that the Nets will make the finals....also include mainly Kidd in the discussion. If everything goes well this season, I believe Kidd could pull together all these talents and carry them to at least the finals.

QUOTE

So, how about those Nets? Would you watch a Spurs/Nets Finals? How about New Jersey and Phoenix, which would help settle the Kidd/Steve Nash best point guard of this generation debate.
Well, tough. At least at this point, San Antonio is the prohibitive favorite and if it wins again, Tony Parker has to start getting mentioned in the same breath as Kidd and Nash, especially if he's as instrumental as he was last summer.

Wow, a Kidd/Nash finals matchup would be GREAT for fans. That would probably be the best case scenario for the NBA in general.
Oh, and Tony Parker should never get mentioned in the same breath as Kidd and Nash.

We are going to win it all this year !

To every little good thing in Life ... CHEERS ! GO NETS
