Oct 31 - "It is stunning from the standpoint that I thought there would be more stability," Josh Childress said, "but we feel like this is the year we've finally put it all together. The bottom line is this, in the past three years we've had basically three guys [Tyronn Lue was acquired in a trade Dec. 23, 2004] in this thing the entire way. And that's just crazy, when you consider that other teams have a nucleus of sometimes seven or eight guys. That's where we feel like we are now."

There are benefits to signing the extension before the season for players, mainly the security of knowing that the next contract is already in hand.

But there are also benefits, for both sides, in waiting. Signing next summer allows a player to negotiate a six-year deal, as opposed to the five-year limit allowed now. -- Atlanta Journal-Constitution

I'm not as optimistic as some people that the Hawks will make the playoffs.

They still lack a true leader IMO. I wouldn't be supriesed to see them make it though.

I think if Joe Johnson had a more voice, he would be leader. I wish we would just sign our key player already, and just worry about the season.

I really do think the Hawks will make a run for the 7th or 8th spot. I think they have the talent and could surprise a lot of people.

Are people really expecting playoffs? I'm just hoping for an entertaining brand of basketball and make the Suns pick high enough that they lost the Joe Johnson trade badly.
