For two more years as the Ravens DC!!! The Ravens took advantage of what other teams didn't want. He is going to make about 1 to 1.2 million $ a year. In other news, the Ravens have begun to negotiate with Suggs and his agent for a contract extension since he is going to enter the season on the final year of his rookie contract. The Ravens do not want him to enter the market at the age of 24 and the reason they let go AD was because they knew that he was still going to be on the offseason agenda. Jonathan Ogden has yet to announce anything but the Ravens know that he will say something before the draft to notify the Ravens if they need to take a tackle or not. With the depth at the WR position in the draft, the Ravens are in the "wait and see" mode about Derrick Mason. He has expressed his feelings about not being used as much in the passing game. He is expandable since Mark Clayton has solidified himself as a future star and Demetrius Williams has shown that he can take on the #2 role. The only concern is the depth behind them. As I predicted when the Browns signed Jamal Lewis, they were going to sign Alan Ricard and they did just a few days ago. Jamal reunites with his friend back in Baltimore. He helped open holes for Jamal early in his career but the last two years, he has been fighting injuries and couldn't stay healthy last year when playing for the Bills. During this years's draft, no one knows what the Ravens are going for in the first round. They always go BPA since there aren't many glaring needs besides the offensive tackle position. They have been toying with the idea of taking a QB in the first round. It seems that there won't be any noise from them trade-wise in the first day because they only have two picks and 6 the second day. It would be nice to trade down a second round pick for a third and a day 2 pick and try to take Chris Henry since he might add depth at RB position and maybe hop on the bandwagon with the rest of the NFL by using a two-back system with Willis McGahee but that is wishful thinking. As of April 18, 2007, the Ravens have met with or going to do so... OL Jermon Bushrod, Towson OL Justin Blalock, Texas OL Arron Sears, Tennessee OL Tony Ugoh, Arkansas QB John Beck, Brigham Young QB Trent Edwards, Stanford QB Kevin Kolb, Houston QB Troy Smith, Ohio State QB Isaiah Stanback, Washington DL Victor Abiamiri, Notre Dame DL Robert Armstrong, Morgan State DB Tanard Jackson, Syracuse DB David Jones, Wingate LB Stewart Bradley, Nebraska LB Stephen Nicholas, South Florida WR Yamon Figurs, Kansas State RB Chris Henry, Arizona RB Marshawn Lynch, California RB Stan White Jr., Ohio State PK Ben Scott, Johns Hopkins Link - http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/footbal...sports-football
Chris Henry is a very interesting prospect, he is the protypically RB, 235 pounds with speed but avgs like 3.7 a carry.
Henry is an interesting prospect but he doesn't run with power like the Ravens want to. I'm surprised that they didn't take a look a Michael Bush yet since he might be available to the Ravens at #61 or if they trade down. But taking another LB and CB is a higher priority than RB.
michael bush would fit in good wit the ravens, im curious 2 know how he is gonna be after dat leg injury
