Great win today, but lets look at what happened in the 3rd.</p> They came out with sloppy plays and stepped away from the beautiful ball movement they set in the 1st half.</p> Now the Bulls were after it all night, we weren't playing the Knicks here these guys are hardcore.</p> </p>
You got it.</p> It's the Bulls, man.</p> If you aren't sharp for a second they take advantage.</p> I don't think that's really "the bad" though, that's just credit to the Bulls.</p>
Still, they built a 16 point lead and I don't care if its the Spurs you don't let a big lead like that disappear in one quarter.</p> This happened last year too, after the half they ALWAYS came out lazy and hazy. Frank needs to do something about it. I'm not down on the game just a little concerned.</p>
It's the NBA, and everybody makes runs of some kind. Gordon was unconscious for a few minutes in the 3rd, hitting everything. Pretty much impossible to stop that. I'm just glad the team was able to withstand the Bulls run, and come out with a win. Nice resiliency.</p>
Bulls got hot and aggressive in the 3rd, and the Nets didn't match.</p> Carter and RJ stopped doing what was giving them success until the 4th and OT.</p>
When a good team like the Bulls get hot, it's hard to stop them.</p> I have trust that Frank will do enough studying and scouting and stuff like that to be able to prevent a meltdown like this happening again vs. the Bulls.</p>
The Nets havent played with consistency in third quarters since 2003-2004. Seriously, every year we have this conversation. There's really nothing that can be done if the veterans cant play with intensity and a sense of urgancy to open up the half.</p>
We really didnt box out in the second half. Aside from the 3rd quarter collapse, that stood out to me the most</p>
if the bulls didnt get hot behind the arc the game wouldnt have been close. they jsut seemed to make every 3 and it looked like they were looking to shoot the 3. so if that was their plan it worked, but your not going to be that hot from 3 every game and the bulls have no inside game at all. at least we can dump it to krstic or magloire, they are not great options but they are options.</p>
Ben Gordon isn't exactly the best player in the NBA, but he's up there in terms of getting a lot of buckets in a short amount of time. Antoine did a great job stopping him late in the 3rd and through the rest of the game.</p>
Let's get real here...the Nets won after falling apart. They recovered against a team that are among the conference elite and more importantly, they discovered that a player they were NOT counting on could play and play well UNDER PRESSURE.</p> Richard Jefferson, who many had dismissed after a season of injuries, scored 29 points and had 9 or 10 boards. More importantly (again) he won the game with a huge three, not traditionally his forte.</p> Carter had a poor shooting game, but played well in other aspects of the game and although he played poorly at the end of regulation, he played brilliantly at the end of overtime. It wasn't just the steal and the pass to RJ. It was him sucking in the Bulls defense with a fake that left RJ wide open.</p> This was also the 13th straight win for the Nets over the Bulls in the Meadowlands. You don't think it matters to a young team like the Bulls that they cannot win on the home court of one of their biggest rivals? Oh yes, it does.</p> </p> </p> </p> </p> </p>
Nocioni just made a 3 with 40s left in the 4th to tie the game up and the Nets didn't try going two for one. Next time they are in this situation I hope Frank tells them to attempt a quick score and then they could potentially have the last shot of the game to win it instead of the other team.</p> Also, why do they have Collins come out and set a highscreen for a guard? Collins man almost always steps out on the guard and the Nets really don't get any kind of advantage from the screen because Collins isn't a threat to score rolling to the basket or setting up outside for the shot. Have RJ set the screen. Or Nachbar. But stop running this play with Collins.</p>

Magloire isn't situated in the offense yet, Nenad only played 20 minutes, Vince shot a terrible percentage, and Boki was ice cold.</p> Last year, when Vince was missing like he was tonight, we would have been sunk for sure. This time around, he let others take over on offense, played tough D and came through in the clutch.</p> The Bulls are a good team, and we won. I'm happy.</p>
The Bulls dominated the Nets in the third quarter. No doubt about it. But the Nets outplayed them the entire first half and dominated OT. The fourth quarter was just sloppy all around for both teams. The Nets aren't going to win every game going away. I'm happy that they got contributions from a player that needs to step in Antoine, and that Vince didn't kill the offense in spite of his off night. He's not going to have a ton of those. The third quarter and the end of regulation was definetly a scary thing to watch, but the Nets fought through adversity. I'm happy to see that more than anything.</p>
