Yeah, and imagine this: there's a likelihood that the team will get BETTER at these things as the season progresses.</p>

I didn't get his autograph cause I didn't have a pen but I got a pic with him. Damn, he's tall. But I mentioned I was a fan of his blog and he seemed to get a kick out of that.</p>

I would have loved to see the game, but was happy to listen to the game, so I can't comment on motion but I was happy to hear we were playing defense. I really like the use of Kidd/DA/AW together. We have a starting squad, a scoring squad, a defensive squad, all we need is a kicking team. may I add also -free throws % was not bad We were able to get to the line and put KH in the penalty. -3 wing players had 2 blocks a piece, which is a nice bonus when you're playing solid defense. I hope I can get to see the next game, (I'm in Canada) no Sopcast for Mac
I didn't see the game, what happened in the 3rd, did we go away from any of the Princeton? Was it just Chicago fired up and playing as if they're lives depended on it?</p> We've had the issue of a 3rd quarter problem all of last year, seems we rest on our laurels and allow the opponent to get back in it.</p>
I agree with just about all your observations, Dumpy.</p> I liked the look of the half court offense last night in that it did incorporate a lot more ball and player movement than it did at most times last year. But it still doesn't look nearly as impressive as, say, the Kings offense of 4-5 seasons ago from a team perspective. That team consistently got players on back doors for layups and could just as easily result in a wide open three from Peja or BJ or Bibby.</p> RJ and Vince were still doing a fair amount of one-on-one stuff before taking a shot last night. Hopefully we'll start seeing more and more back doors as part of the execution as the season progresses. I do like the curls RJ and Vince are running in the lane. And the play where VC and Collins screen for Krstic at the top of the key, which appears to have Vince going in for the lob dunk as an option, is looking like it could be killer -- one way or the other -- this year.</p>
2 Other topics I think need some light shed on them:</p> 1) VC + RJ on the same side of the floor - a few times even setting screens for one another.</p> I don't remember seeing that much last year - it was always Kidd + VC / RJ or Mikki / Nenad + VC / RJ.</p> It caused havoc with the Bulls having to decide to switch, double the ball, or lay off the ball handler and slide through - giving the ball handler a step to the rim.</p> In those situations, the similar skill sets of VC + RJ force the defenders to pick which of the 2 they will stop... or to bring a 3rd defender over.</p> Contrary to popular belief, having them on the same side of the floor didn't crowd things, it added possibilities and puts a lot of pressure on the defenders to rotate properly - something even good defensive teams will struggle to do consistently.</p> More than Wright having a good game, I think he mostly benefited from the system changes; he was wide open w/ no excuse to not shoot / take it to the rim.</p> </p> 2) One thing the Bulls didn't do much was full court pressure, during the preseason, that really disrupted the Nets (exception being the knicks games, where it resulted in lots of dunks / open 3's for the nets). I hope Frank takes note on what's worked and what hasn't worked in this game.</p> And on defense, I LOVED the full court press the Nets ran, DA and Wright worked that to perfection a few times. It got the running game going, and got us some easy buckets, like you said.</p>
I think that's what Frank has to do, rather than our coach the team, find your bread and butter and use it over and over until they show they can stop it. What Pop has Duncan on the left block? Every team has their go to sets.</p>

I am not saying that we don't have one right now, I hope Krstic, Magloire get more time.</p> I'd like to see this team is with balance in front court and back court. I don't like we always give way too much pressure on the backcourt - Big Three.</p>

I don't like we always give way too much pressure on the backcourt - Big Three.</p> </div></p> The East does have some dominant big men in KG, Bosh, Howard (as long as he is within five feet of the basket), Curry (as long as he doesnt have to pass or defend), O'Neal (getting older), O'Neal (hurt again), etc., but the Bulls dont have a dominant big man, nor do the Pistons. The Cavs think they have one, but don't, in Ilgauskas. Along with the Nets, those were the four Eastern Conference semifinalists.</p> </p> </p>
