My brain can't even compute what is going on right now. The Lakers beating Phoenix by over 30... in Phoenix... with Kobe scoring under 20? What the hell?

So our roster really has a ton of potential..it seems all the competition at the guard positions has made our players a TON better..

Great observation. Anyone missing Smush Parker? LOL

Getting rid of that bum and bringing in Fisher and then drafting JCritt has really elevated the PG position for this team.

What's also amazing is the fact we're doing all this without Odom on the court!

PJax and D'Antoni are yelling at each other. LOL

    Barbosa for a 3 pointer

D'Antoni is talking smack "we got 3 more games with you guys, we're good" LMAO

MO Evans is fouled makes them both

Smush also took his bad locker room attitude with him too...It's amazing tonight to all the Lakers players, no 2nd option in Odom available, Kobe scores under 20 points, and we're able to contain Nash, Stoudamire, and Barbosa (who killed us in the playoffs), excellent game, let's see how they bring it to their next game though!

    Barbosa another 3 pointer

    BYNUM another facial!

    Diaw with a jumper

    Mo misses

    Barbosa scores

Steal by Phoenix another layup, too little too late though

    Lakers bench with 63 points

JCritt gets jiggy with it and gets fouled.

Barbosa is padding those stats late in this game.

    Bynum another rebound #13

Bynum has 14 points and 13 boards in just 19 minutes. uber production

I gotta say Vujacic did a good job leading in the last quarter, he's different, I see MORE driving and his shot is falling consistently tonight..

Kobe says the Lakers are committed to playing hard every single day.

Lakers want to prove they can compete!

Kobe is focused on his teammates and expects this type of effort every game, every practice, every day!

Likes the defensive effort and says that's the key.

Despite the win, can't help but notice Kobe's demeanor throughout the game. It looked like a "I'm here to play my heart out, but I don't want to be here" kinda look.

I think for I speak for most every Laker fan when I say, wow, what a f**king game. The Lakers offense was absolutely clicking all night tonight. Bynum looked great. He took full advantage of the fact that he's much taller and stronger than anyone on that Suns roster and just dominated while he was on the court, cruising to a double double. Space Cadet showed why we paid him last year. He gave us a huge spark off the bench tonight and lit it up from the outside, going 4/4 from the arc. Fish was great as well, getting things going early on for the Lakers and ending with a solid game. Him, Critt, and Farmar make me really NOT miss Smushy-poo at all. I think our PG rotation is at least ten times better without that cancerous piece logging minutes there.

Looking past all the individual efforts now and more to the team. The one thing I really liked from this game tonight is the pure unselfishness of everyone. They made the extra pass all night long, and it frequently ended up in a made basket for the Lakers. They also did a GREAT job on defense. They held Nash to all of three assists tonight, forcing him to be more of a scorer than a distributor, which in my opinion, is really the key to beating the Suns. They forced the Suns into contested jumpers all night. No one was consistently knocking anything down until Barbosa did some stat-padding late in the game. I also give it up to the Lakers post players. Kwame and Bynum did a great job on Amare tonight, keeping him completely in check and holding him to what, eight points? They continually attacked him on blocks on offense, forcing him to commit a lot of cheap fouls, which in turn limited his effectiveness on offense.

In general, this was a spectacular win for the Lakers tonight. They showed what they are capable of when all the pieces are falling together. They played terriffic, unselfish basketball tonight. Beyond that, the Lakers defense was smothering all night, really leading the way to the victory for them. If the Lakers could play like this most every night, they COULD make some noise out West this year.

And did I mention we did all of this without our second best player? Who'd have thunk we could thump the Suns like this without Odom? Not me, but I'll sure as hell take it.
