Defending Beck has paid off I guess. In the recent Culpepper thread, I said Miami should go w/ a 2nd or 3rd tier gunslinger and they did The U of Utah will not be asking for the diploma I earned for defending a Cougar.... I hope. I am pumped with the pick @ #60 (see the sites mock). The OL has gotten better. It will be interesting to see if Satele plays guard or Center. (Current Center) Rex Hadnot should occupy the spot that Satele doesn't. If I am guessing correctly, The OL may look like this; Alabi (05 5th rd pick), Satele, Hadnot, Shelton, Vernon Carey. I love the fierceness & intensity that every Pacific islander brings to the game i.e. Polamalu, Manuwai w/ Jville, and so on.
What I've read about beck is that he has an adequate, but not strong, arm. I'm not huge on guys having to have a cannon. I just want to know that Beck has enough arm strength to make all the throws the he will need to in the NFL. Anyone have any thoughts on that? I think the Satele pick was a good one as well. However, I'm still not over the selection of Ginn. If we had picked Okoye instead, then maybe I would be feeling a little better right now.
Beck will be okay. He's intelligent & mature. His arm is stong enough. Its better than Quinn but no JaMarcus... Somewhere in between. Pick 71 just went down. I'm not crazy about it but a replacment for Travis Minor was needed. Booker (not the WWE guy) will be a good sub for Ronnie and change of pace. The goofs on ESPN compared him to Westbrook. I can only hope he's that good.
