Nov 2 - Former Indiana Pacers point guard Darrell Armstrong said his recent comments to a North Carolina newspaper about Larry Bird were made out of frustration and that he didn't intend to call the team president a "liar."

Armstrong told the Gaston Gazette that the he was "bitter" and that the Pacers "lied" to his agent about what they planned to do with him during the offseason.

"I don't think Larry lied to me. I just think it was a business thing," Armstrong said during a telephone interview Thursday. "Larry Bird, (general manager) David Morway and (CEO) Donnie Walsh have always been good to me. I was just frustrated because I had to sit there all summer and not know what was going to happen to me and then get released on media day. That's not a good feeling." -- Indianapolis Star
