Nov 2 - Rockets guard Steve Francis, excluded from the playing rotation to begin the season, said he and Rockets coach Rick Adelman have talked it out. Though they spoke briefly, it was enough for Francis to decide that the "something" he would do about it is to "wait."

"I want it to work out, definitely," Francis said. "I definitely want it to work here. "We talked. I don't want to be in any confrontation with anybody. If he decides to play me, I know I'm 1,000 percent ready even though I haven't run in about nine days besides on a treadmill." -- Houston Chronicle

Francis has been a selfish prima donna since joining the team. He has this ridiculous sense of entitlement. It's like Bonzi/Spanoulis from last year all over again. Hopefully he can put his ego aside, put in the work, and prove to the coaches that he can help. He needs to hope that Rafer tanks, though, because Mike James is a fixture in the rotation.

Maybe. It just seems very similar to last year to me. Francis comes into camp, thinking he doesn't have to be in shape. That just because he signed for a modest contract, he shouldn't be expected to put in the work in the offseason and training camp. He assumed that he's entitled to a rotation spot, just because of his past. And he's been very curt with the media, pinning all resposibility for his lack of playing time on the coach without reflecting on himself (not being in shape, making tons of defensive mistakes, being inefficient on offense). It's like deja vu.

Adelman (just like JVG last year) will not publically criticize the player in the media, beyond stating the obvious (they're not playing well; they're not in great shape). But I'm sure he is fairly unhappy with the situation.
