Wenger Was Interested In Signing Tevez

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has sensationally revealed that he was interested in signing Carlos Tevez – that is until Manchester United got on the case.

Tevez has been a revelation in England, after a fairly slow start at Upton Park he almost single-handedly kept them in the Premier League last season.

Then there was the summer, filled with talk of Kia Joorabchin and the MSI nonsense. But the Argentine has put those demons to rest by starting the season in impressive manner with Manchester United, discovering a wonderful partnership with Wayne Rooney.

With less than 24 hours to go until the game of the season so far between Arsenal and Manchester United, Arsene Wenger has revealed that he was interested in signing Tevez from West Ham/MSI/whoever.

But the Frenchman was put off when Manchester United entered the race for his signature.

“When I saw Manchester United on the case, I thought no,” said Wenger at Friday’s press conference. “If they had not been on the case, yes.

“I would have analyzed it and looked at how would it go. But it looked as if they were on the case early.

“However I knew I had Van Persie and Adebayor to play at the start. I wanted to give them confidence. Then I had Bendtner behind and I wanted to give him confidence. [In the end] I looked for a player like Eduardo, who can play left wing, right or central.”

If given the choice, I'm sure Tevez himself would have chosen United. (the club with the best history in the epl)

Yeh but TBH Wenger has never made an Incorrect Signing. Maybe Reyes but for the time he was at Arsenal he was a good player. Unlike some Man Utd players i could name. Djemba-Djemba for example lol.

Yes but That doesn't count. Reyes is doing really well in Spain and I'm glad as he deserves it but there's no doubt he couldn't quite hack it in the EPL
