QUOTE

Tracy McGrady kept saying how good he felt. On the first day of training camp, after a few games, through those six days of practices when Rick Adelman had the Rockets scrimmaging, teammates versus teammates, he was thrilled about how he felt. Teammates raved about how he was playing.
He started off the season nervously in Los Angeles but got a couple free throws and a dunk on a backdoor cut and took off from there. In LA, he hit jumpers. In Salt Lake City, he got to the rim, with a mix of jumpers without leaning too far to one or the other.
With his 47 points against the Jazz, the most a Rockets player has ever scored against Utah and he has ever scored with the Rockets, the team had a 2-0 start to the season and a win in the arena that has been their toughest to visit. As the Rockets head back to Houston for Saturday's home opener, he seems to be moving and scoring easily again.
The change in the offense has opened up the lane, inviting him to attack. Usually, the more he attacks, the more everything falls into place. And with the Rockets offense still very much a work in progress, having McGrady on a roll might be a way to get through the tough early schedule.
But there are other good signs. The bench has provided a valuable lift in each of the first two games, with Mike James going for 13 in Los Angeles and 15 on Thursday. Luis Scola looked more comfortable on Thursday. And Yao Ming, after struggling in Salt Lake City gets to go home. Just as McGrady is typically his best on the road, Yao is his best at Toyota Center.
Get him going and McGrady might really be feeling good, heading to the Dallas/San Antonio back to back.
"This is the start of a new season," McGrady said. "I'm just feeling good mentally, physically and having fun playing basketball with my new teammates and coaching staff."
That's what he has said all along. Now it shows.

Source: Housto Chronicle Blog

The great players are the ones who are facilitators and to score efficiently - you have to get easy shots. The only way to get easy shots are wide-open shots (T-Mac won't be seeing many) and by going to the rim. TMAC is a great scorer - if he would learn to take the ball to the rim half-the time he touches it - the rockets will end up with a dunk, two free-throws, or a jumpshot off of a kickout that is wide open. I can't count many players that can stop Tracy from taking the ball to the rim. Maybe this year he will learn that and we can get him and other some easy shots.

Re: Fast Start For Mcgrady, Rockets Begins With 'Feeling I'm so happy with how the rockets are going this year. Even though We've played well the last 3 out of 4 seasons, I never felt we were really getting anywhere. This year seems a lot different. We are now playing in a system that compliments our star players.
