QUOTE (GMJigga)

We'll be fine

NOOO not humphries....lol couldnt watch the game but as a raps fan I would think it would be very enjoyable to watch. Some of you however need to calm down, if you take a win or lose this hard then I would advise you to stop watching basketball for the goodness of your health.
Please dont ever bring up any arguements of USA vs. Canada, it just takes away the respect from you and the site.

after seeing the suns loss too last night, I didn't feel so bad. a game's a game, bring on Philly, who also beat the Bulls.
I think this sums up anything that happens before Christmas

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writ...ason/index.html

Yea peg, Leo was a pretty good basketball player back in the day.
I find TJ is really improving his defense. As I watched him last night, he was really getting in Kidd's face and playing tough defense. He was breaking through picks and making smart plays. Calderon is just an overall good defender. He knows how to play the game, and plays it well.

Canada, is a country with a team called the Raptors. And man, you are so immature, I dont even want to argue with you.

Master Shake, Props for coming up with Leo Rautins. Soo good at Syracuse, if injuries never happened, he'd probably had been the best Canadian basketball player ever.
His son ain't too bad, either.

His son honestly had the skills to be one of the top 5 Canadian players of All-Time but he really screwed up his knee playing for Team Canada.

It's just one season game.
At least, In Sean, We Trust. Let's start Sean Williams next game !
Kidd - Carter-Jefferson- Sean - Krstic .

Nets is not too old,
please check Marcus Williams, Antoine Wright, Sean Williams, Josh Boone, Boki Nachbar, Richard Jefferson, thier ages.
And check your Anthony parker, too, he is so old.

QUOTE (farouq710)

how is it looking more and more like the raptors are the better team?? it was the first game against eachother this season. after maybe the the first two months of the season and maybe when they've played another time is when you can say the raptors are better or the nets are better. the nets obviously didn't scout the raps properly since they were letting a lot of the bench guys get wide open shots as well as T.J. Ford definately stepped up tonight and looks like he's worked on his shot and that alone makes the raps a lot better since they now really have everyone being capable of hitting from the outside.

What you don't know is that Raps have 10 people that can score outright. The Nets are a good team, but Toronto is just a bit better this year.

hollagr8, you're misinformed. The Nets are NOT an old team. They have five players that were born in 1983 or later, and only TWO that were born before 1977--one of which, Darryl Armstrong, was signed to a one-year deal and has no future with the team. The other, Jason Kidd, was the best player on the national team this summer. I don't consider players who are around 27-31 years old to be "old." They have one player born in 1977, three in 1978, and a couple in 1980.
Their average age is 27.2. Dallas: 27.8. Denver: 27.0. Detroit: 27.2. Houston: 27.8. Clippers: 28.3. Miami: 27.7. Orlando: 27.0. Phoenix: 28.5. The Spurs: 30.0.
Toronto: 27.2. Pot, meet kettle.

Some notes about the game and this thread:
1) The Raptors dominated the Nets. They played to their full potential. Every team has nights like the Raptors had, when the basket seems 2 feet wider. They caught fire at the same time that the Nets were on the OTHER end of the spectrum: nothing went in and the players' confidence went from
here to

here, which only caused MORE missed shots.
2) Some of the Nets fans here need to admit to the loss, get over the whole thing and look towards Philly, which is an important game against another division rival.
3) The Raptors fans, on the other hand, need to calm down and stop pretending that this game proves anything, whether it's that the Raptors are better than the Nets or that the Nets just suck.
4) Both sides need to understand that after one, two, three, four, ten and even twentyregular season games, you can't just conclude conclusions about your team.
5) Canda has plenty of good basketball players. Just off the top of my head Magloire, Nash and Sam Dalembert come to mind.
6) Don't make this a USA-Canada debate.
7) Sean Williams schooled Humphries.
8) The Nets aren't old. Only Kidd can be considered "old" in basketball terms. Whoever said that the Nets' key players are "old", would you mind saying exactly which players so we can all know? Because, if I remember correctly, the Nets have three key players outside of Kidd and their average age is 27. Anthony Parker isn't old either, by the way.

Why? We shouldn't underestimate Philly. The Bulls did and they paid for it. If we lose tonight, it'll be dissapointing, obviously. We're the more experienced and more talented team. But remember, we're on back-to-back games and the morale probably isn't too high after a near 40 point loss. Losing isn't the end of the world.

Let it go, everyone. Raps fans should be thinking about Sunday's game against the Celtics and Nets fans should definitely be thinking about tonight against Philadelphia.

Throw Kidd (who age doesn't seem to affect) in there and it's 28.5. In no way is that old.
Oh, and just to clear things up:
I'm assuming that by "your stars" you mean Parker, Garbajosa, Bosh and Ford. If you want to count Bargnani, we're counting Wright (probably the 5th best player on the team right now) for the Nets. Parker, Garbajosa and Ford's average age is 27.25. That's older than Carter, Jefferson and Krstic. If you count Bargnani (your youngest player)and the Nets count Wright, the Raptors' average age is 26.2. Counting Wright and Kidd, the Nets' "stars"average age is 27.6. If you switch Bargnani with Calderon and Kapono, who are just as much "stars" as he is, the Raptors' "stars" average age is 27. 27.6-27=....7?
