Post game quotes

The only interesting moment down the stretch came when Suns coach Mike D'Antoni became livid when Lakers coach Phil Jackson called a timeout, right after the Suns called one, with 4:55 to play and Phoenix trailing 111-78.

"Yeah, I was pretty upset," D'Antoni said. "I thought he disrespected our players. But he likes to play the mind games and that's fine. He might want to try to do it in playoff time when we bust them every year."

Lakers need to clip this out and post all over the locker room.

    Phil's response

Jackson said he was just getting a mandatory timeout out of the way.

"He wasn't thinking straight. That's all," Jackson said of D'Antoni. "He'd understand that if he thought about it for a second. I think he thought I was trying to showboat or grandstand. But when you have a mandatory timeout coming in a minute and a half or something like that, just get it out of the way."

Man how great would it feel to run into them again in the 1st round and finally put them down?

I know we cant read Kobe's mind but, What does everyone think about the chance of him stayin in L.A.?

It would be great to sweep the Suns this year and then sweep in the 1st round.

If Kobe's teammates continue to play with this type of effort he'd be a fool to not want to stay.

How many rings does D'Antoni have? I think PJ should wear all 10 of his the next time they play on the bench. D'Antoni is the easiest coach to replace in the NBA.

PJax only has nine actually. And I wouldn't go to the point to say D'Antoni is easily replaceable. I do think he's highly overrated, but he does a good enough job of running his offense and getting the right players for it that he's not EASILY replaceable.

And I think, if the Lakers role players continue to play like this, that they could surprise. Everyone was playing very, very good last night. The tri was being run beautfifully and their defense was spectacular.

Also to note is the fact we smacked them around WITHOUT our second best player. I'm not saying we'd have blown them out anymore with Odom in the lineup, but i think it really shows how good of a team we CAN have if all of the parts in it come together and play well. I'm really quite anxious to see this team once Odom gets back on the court, cause I think he can add a whole 'nother dimension to this team that we're lacking with his ability to score in the post as well as play on the perimeter.

This is just my little own mind thinking, but I just thought how funny it would be if the Suns for some odd reason never made the playoffs this year because the Lakers beat them out of contention...

That won't happen by the way, but I was being sinister
