According to the Boston Herald, Celtics forwards Glen "Big Baby" Davis and Leon Powe went at it today in practice, fighting for a spot in the rotation, and things got heated:

QUOTE

A seemingly innocuous workout today was spiced by a battle between Glen Davis and Leon Powe. The two were working in a drill after the regular session when Davis decided he’d taken too many hits from the latter.
The rookie began yelling at Powe, who listened for a while then said he was willing to fight if that’s what Davis, nursing a bloody nose, wanted.
“That means they don’t want to,” said Doc Rivers, who was speaking at the other end of the court.
The matter was soon cooled, with Paul Pierce and others intervening.
Interestingly, neither Rivers nor Danny Ainge saw it as a big deal, and, in truth, such things are not uncommon among competitive teammates during the course of a season.
As the Celts prepared to fly to Toronto, Ainge laughed at the prospect of body slams at 30,000 feet.
“No, none of that,” he said. “They’re fine already. It’s over.”

It’s great to see these two battling hard, and I’m sure this won’t turn into anything negative. I think Doc is going to stick to what he said, it will be a “backup PF by committee” type of deal. When we play teams with perimeter bigs like Jamison, Bosh, or Nowitzki - Scal will get the call. Leon will get the call when we play more athletic/smaller teams, such as Golden State, and Big Baby will get a chance when we need a big body to bang (ala vs. the Knicks).
For the record, I’d put my money on Leon.

QUOTE (Universe)

Man if Davis sat on Powe, he'd be dead.

No he wouldn't. Leon would just flex, and Big Baby would pop up like popcorn.

Big Baby thinks he's tough because he got hit by a car in Italy and walked away from it. However Powe > Italian cars!

Powe's probably stronger and the better fighter, but one body-slam from Davis and Powe's in deep shit
