This deal ended up about where everyone thought it would. Why it took so long is beyond me. I thought a 4th rounder was fair and I am happy with a 5 allowing performance incentives to make it a 4. Good deal for both clubs imo. If Green gets into his old offense, he will flourish again. He will also be the consumate teacher for Beck. The Chiefs also have a shot at that 4th rounder they wanted if Green isn't washed up. Green has been a class act in KC since his arrival (disregarding the shenannigans as of late) and I wish him well in Miami.

"shenannigans as of late?" What did Trent Green do that was wrong? I thought Green handled this nonsense as well as anyone could. The person that lost all my respect during this deal was Carl Peterson. I've never thought much of him as a GM, but I thought he was a decent guy. I believe his misled Trent Green and the Dolphins then left Trent holding the bag. Carl Peterson is a punk.

I'm glad that the pick is a conditional 4th because Trent is only worth a 4th if he can play. Don't get me wrong, I am rooting for Trent, but I'm getting weary of picking up other teams' damaged QBs. Green's age doesn't help either.

It would be nice to keep Culpepper, if he can show that he can still play, but I wonder if the salary cap will be affect that possibility. Also, will Culpepper become a malcontent if he's not number one.

"King Carl", as those in the Kansas City area mockingly call him, as he struts around the team in his expensive fur coat, and ego the size of Arrowhead Stadium. If only he would entertain us by wearing one of those cardboard Burger King hats with that coat, that would be hilarious.

Not more than a day after the doctor said he could play this season. For the Dolphins, this is good news, because now they can possibly get more for his trade. Kansas City needs a QB! I can't believe that Herm is going to put his new gig on the line every day, all riding on the shoulders of Damon Huard. Get Culpepper, Herm, err King Carl.

I think Daunte could wind up in OAKLAND! Think about it, JaMarcus has a similar body and attributes, watching a similar player to himself could be beneficial and Daunte could be a good mentor.

I believe Green no longer wanting to look like a Cherry tomato 1/2 the year would count as Shenannigans?

Peterson's original demands were way too exorbitant for 37 YO QB. I have never been a big fan of CP. The way he handled the Trent G trade was bothersome but how he handled the issue of compensation for Surtain a few years ago was really uncool IMO.

Its feasible but I doubt it. I read somewhere on the internet that Oakland, Minny, & Chicago are very unlikely. Jacksonville & St Louis appear possible.

Atlanta may be the most logical. The Dirty birds considered Feidler, then signed Joey, and now may acquire Daunte?

I'm a step ahead of you (as usual) since I had no respect for King Carl to lose. Trent saying that he would not play again for the Chiefs was a little iffy in my book when they still owned his contract. He and his agent using the media to aid in their battle wasn't great either. There's something to be said about not airing your dirty laundry. Don't get me wrong. I like Trent and appreciate all he did for the Chiefs, but will you be singing the same tune when the "Phins want to start Beck and Green is a malcontent?

Don't talk to me about weary of re-tread QB's. After Montana, (which was great) the Chiefs became the retirement home for 49er QBs. Trent was worth more to the Dolphins than any other team due to the fact that he fully understands the offense CC is installing. He can start right away without missing a beat and speed up that process. He can also help the WRs learn the terminology and aid in their development. And who could be a better tutor for Beck for that system? If you ask me, you got him pretty cheap. He will earn the 4th rounder imo, and make me proud.

CP knew he wasn't going to get a 2nd rounder, but the flip side of that coin was that Miami's offer of a 7th rounder was ridiculous too. They met about where they should have.

I remember there was a fiasco surrounding the Surtain deal, but I don't remember the specifics. Care to remind us. I wish the Chiefs would trade Carl Peterson. Him and DolfanDale are about the same age. Maybe they could go pick out walkers together?

Carl P did not want to part w/ a 2nd for Surtain but eventually did. Surtain was worth more than was spent Green now IMO.

Part of the hold up for negotiations this time between the Chiefs and phins was CP being obstinate IMO.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%">The 11th overall pick in the 1999 draft, Culpepper restructured his contract shortly after being traded to Miami in 2006. He is set to count $6.375 million against the 2007 salary cap. A trade or release would result in a meager $625K cap hit. If released, the Dolphins could spread that hit out over two seasons if they wish.</span></div>
