Red Sox would be No.1 on A-Rod's list

QUOTE

Citing sources close to Alex Rodriguez, the Boston Globe reported Sunday that ifRodriguez could handpick the team he plays for, the Boston Red Sox mightbe No. 1 on his list.

According to The Globe, the sourcesaidRodriguez would love to play for the Soxbecause he thinks they can win multiple championships.

Also, agent Scott Boras has been pleasantly surprised with the early interest in Rodriguez. "Several teams have expressed an interest and there have been a couple of surprise teams I never expected to hear from," he said. Boras would not reveal any names (one of the surprise teams is thought to be the Marlins).

I wouldn't mind having ARod on our team. Wouldn't it be just like when Babe left us and went to the Yankees, and then we didn't win for 86 years. Probably won't happen that way to the Yankees but it'll be a blow to them if he ends up in Beantown.

It could be a blow to you too. A-Rod is the best player in the league, but everywhere he goes teams don't win the big one. If they sign A-Rod they might not bring back Mike Lowell. If Boston is willing to drop $30M on salary they're better off bringing Lowell back and then getting another starting pitcher since Schilling might not be back. Johan Santana is available and possibly Dontrelle Willis.

I hope we get Santana. Good player.

I agree that ARod is asking for too much money but with our current team, switching Lowell with ARod, I think we only get better as a team. We all know how special ARod is and he might even break Bonds record. (its possible)

    PLEASE NO A-ROD!!!

We have won two World Series because of cluch hitting in October. A-Rod's ability to hit in the cluch goes down with the temperature. That's why his team will never win. They're relying on him to create runs and he can't hit in October.

I'm not really a big A-Rod fan...but for a pitcher to have to throw to Manny, Ortiz and A-Rod all in a row would be insane.

How about we get him just for the season haha. And then in the playoffs we can leave him out of the roster.

Santana and Beckett as the top two pitchers in the rotation would be ridiculous.

Lester would probably have to be part of any Santana deal. Which doesn't bother me at all. They should also make a pitch for Miguel Cabrera. Cabrera, Ortiz, and Ramirez would be a killer 3-4-5 combination.

Yeah man, I wouldn't mind him, I'm sure our veterans would teach him a thing or two about the postseason and he would become a clutch player for us.

I don't think cluch or a team first attitude can be taught. IF the Mets want ARod, let them have him. No way should the Red Sox even think twice about him. Get Mike Lowell back and win when it counts.
