Azubuike is a good player. Hopefully he can turn into some type of a star this season. The Warriors need at least one more star pretty badly. I just wonder what happens when Stephen Jackson comes back. Does Monta hit the bench?

Monta should hit the bench. Damn. It's like Wtwalker said last year to not get too hyped up in Ellis. Because unless he stays one step ahead of the defenders, they'll always be trying to take away the best parts of his game now that they know what that is. In Ellis' case it is speed, but he's got some particular habits and he's not a good shot outside a certain distance. Defenders play off him and force him to go in ways he feels uncomfortable. He's like a one-trick pony in some ways.

Like for instance in Troy Hudson, Barnett said the guy likes to go right all the way to the hole, but if he's forced left, he'll stop short, pull up for a jumpshot. Smart defenders will notice this and will just limit the types of offense these guys can do if they're so limited and predictable. In Ellis' case, defenders just want the guy to shoot similar to how guys wanted Dunleavy to shoot. They don't mind leaving these guys open so long as they don't drive and force defenders certain ways. It'd be great if they had some post game at least.

Azubuike at least has a more complete game on display. The guy can left, right, crossover, and even post up some although its not as good as Jrich. I can understand why he does the gather leap like Jrich. You get more power to rise above the rim and just come down on a center. Of course, it looks more awesome when he does the jump off one foot and hammers it down. It's more smooth that way. Anyway, really liking Azubuike because all the other rookies are starting to show signs of not being the all-around players I hoped they would at the beginning of the season.

Azubuike is a well rounded player with some good physical tools; he can rebound in traffic and can go up for the slam on the break (bigger hands than Al?). I think the big thing is having confidence to shoot and not pass out to Baron or others and Nellie's confidence in him to play D (I think that's why he sits because Nellie sees him miss defensive rotation assignments). He's a true find and I hope he blossoms.
