Dave D

QUOTE

Vince Carter -- he of the less-than-robust 30.8 percent shooting stroke -- admits that his jammed right thumb has caused him problems since getting whacked on the hand during the second quarter of the Nets' opener against Chicago.

If the shot ain't working, then draw fouls by driving.

Actually he seems to have been doing this since that game, so really no complaints here as long as it heals soon and he gets his shooting stroke back. That loooong 3 against PHI was vintage (nj)VC.

I don't look at this revelation as an "excuse." It is just a way for us to gain some understanding on the liklihood that this will continue. There is a difference.

i dont see this as excuses, but just facts. im glad to hear that vince has some type of minor injury that is the reason for his recent play. i rather hear him having a minor injury than just purely stinking up the joint. if vince is still dealing with this injury that is effecting his shot then he just needs to keep creating for others, mainly RJ. draw some double teams and keep attacking the rim. because of this injury it should give him more motivation to keep driving for layups since he knows his shot is being effected by his thumb. as for J, it doesnt matter what problems he has because once he laces up those shoes he goes at it full speed and can still control a game and win a game for us, thats what special players do and we are lucky to still have him around. hopefully it gets healed quick

Carter has sore right thumb - Fred Kerber - New York Post
Another link^.
Agreed, xcalibur. Hopefully, he doesn't try to nurse his injury too much and shy away from the rim...
