Lemon will remain at QB for Dolphins at Buffalo

QUOTE

DAVIE, Fla. -- Cleo Lemon will keep the No. 1 quarterback job for the Miami Dolphins and start Sunday against Buffalo, coach Cam Cameron said Monday.

There had been speculation Cameron might give rookie John Beck his first NFL start for the winless Dolphins.

Trent Green started the first five games but went on injured reserve Oct. 20 following his second severe concussion in 13 months. The Dolphins lost their past three games with Lemon as the quarterback.

As the first quarterback drafted in the first or second round by the Dolphins since Dan Marino, Beck has widely been considered their QB of the future. Giving him a tryout would help them decide whether they need to acquire a quarterback in 2008.

"We have two guys who don't have a lot of experience," Cameron said. "We're going to need them both."

Do you guys think he should give Beck a chance?

Truthfully, I am of mixed opinion. I'd like to see whatthings are like w/ Beck, Ginn, & L. Booker all on the field at the same time.

Yet,I felt& stated during the preseason that Beckwould get the Phillip Rivers treatment and get no playing time his rookie season. I felt then that if the season were a complete disaster, there may be a small chance Beckplays. If Ronnie did not go down then maybe Beck plays

Cleo has improved each game unlike Green whose QBE was up & down. Cleo is a bit more mobile than Trent or John. Lemon s/b the starter until he pulls a Harrington.

At this point, if Beck came in and started winning, you could just be hurting your chances at wrestling the #1 pick away from the Rams. At any rate, you may have a high enough pick to trade down 10 spots and acquire an extra pick or two. DB anyone?

Cam has said that Lemon will start against Buffalo. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/20...515186836_x.htm

It appears more and more that Beck will not see playing time this season which is probably for the best.

Unless a miracle of epic proportions happens then Miami will have a top 5 pick. That being said, Hopefully, It will be enough to entice Dallas to move up and grab McFadden. If not, Dorsey, Talib (CB Kansas), & Tamme (TE Kentucky) or Leaman (LB Illinois) would be a solid start to the 08 draft

The downside to Beck seeing action is the local media climbing on the phins bandwagon.

The talking heads here hadbig man crush on theNiners during the Steve Young Era. Thinking about itstill makes me sick. I was using bags long before Beef was.

Cameron's words say Lemon is the starter, but his actions say Beck is on deck....When the team is 0-8 and the highly drafted QB is spliting the reps at practice, it's a good bet that the vet is on a short leash and the rook is being prepared to play soon.
