QUOTE (CelticKing)

They were talking on WEEI today about the '72 Dolphins and which teams they had to beat to have the perfect season. Also gave the record for each team. Not an impressive "perfect season" beating all those weak teams. (pats were one of them) lol

The Dolphins played the schedule they were given. The schedules were based on a structure that was used league wide. Everyone played home and away games against division opponents and that accounted for 8 of the 14 games. (Buffalo, Baltimore, NY Jets and New England were in the AFC East.)
1. Bob Griese, the Dolphins starting QB (Hall of Fame 90), was injured for half the season with a broken leg.
2. Despite being undefeated, for some odd reason, the Pittsburgh Steelers had homefield advantage for the AFC Championship Game.
3. The Dolphins beat the top two teams, excluding themselves, in the playoffs. They beat the Redskins and Steelers, who were the only other teams to win as many as 11 games, and they did it without playing either on their homefield.
So, what's the problem?

Shula was on Mike and Mike this morning. He completely, and somewhat patheticly, back-tracked on every negative thing that he was quoted as saying and actually said on a SportsCenter interview. He went from saying that the Patriots got this fine for a reason and comparing us to the Barry Bonds asterisk to "Its not for me to judge."
If you're going to talk shit...talk shit. Don't be a little bitch about it once someone gets pissy at you.

We're going to smash the Dolphins next game we play them and Shula will be the reason why. Just wait and see. (same with the jets)

The Redskins took it like men when they got whipped even though the media started spreading lies about Gibbs not shaking Belicheat's hand. Go ahead and beat teams down because they won't bow down and kiss the Patriots butts. Everyone that the Patriots crap on will remember it, so Belicheat's day will come.

Who is Belicheat?
I searched the name and came up with nothing.
Back to topic, like agoo said, Shula was on mike and mike this morning, haha, saying that if they indeed go undefeated, they should be called the best team ever.

The Patriots play the Giants in the last game. I doubt the Patriots are playing for anything, like homefield advantage, but I would almost guarantee that the Giants will need that game. He needs to play the starters just enough to try and avoid rust and get them out of there. The last thing that a Patriots fan should want is to go undefeated in the regular season and lose in the playoffs because of injuries or just being too beat up. The Colts and Steelers can get real physical. You should want the Patriots to be in good shape when they play.

I'm not, but that hasn't stopped Patsie fans from calling me a terrorist in the past. If Patriot fans don't like it, then don't dish it out. It's kind of like running up the score, people have long memories.

QUOTE (CelticKing)

Who ran up the score? And who are you to tell the Pats that they ran up the score?

Now, don't insult my intelligence, CK. Even the national media has managed to pry their lips from Belicheat's buttocks long enough to question the wisdom of having his Patriots run up the score on several occasions.
Please do not tell me a coach is not running up the score when he is leading 41-27 and he has a reserve running back go a yard for a touchdown with 19 seconds to go. Belichick did this in his side's 48-27 conquest of Dallas. Please do not suggest that Belichick was not trying to pile on the points when he had Tom Brady throwing for the end zone with a 38-0 lead. Belichick did this last week during the Patriots' 52-7 conquest of Washington.
http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/nfl/2...1s4running.html

Thats not running up the score dude. They were simply playing. If given the chance Dallas would have done the same. And so would have Washington, and even your allmighty Dolphins.
Its proffesional football if you haven't heard. They get paid to go out there and destroy other teams, and every fan wants that.
Don't tell me you wouldn't be happy if the Dolphins were leading the Pats at half 35-0 and then continued on to go to 50-0. You'll be the happiest man alive.
(but it won't happen) haha

QUOTE (ehmunro)

You're not a terrorist, just an idiot.

I would think that a global mod would be smart enough to know that Belicheat is a public figure and I am not, so you just broke the TOS with a personal attack. I would hope that if the Dolphins are leading anyone 35-0, then they really start leaning on the running game and running out the clock. If the game is secure, then start sitting your starters down. It's a long season and you don't need players taking more punishment just to increase a score, if you know that a game is in hand. 35-0 counts as a win just as much as 50-0. You don't get extra wins for scoring more points.
Edit - I would be LIVID if an important player got hurt trying to make a 35-0 game into a 50-0 game.

You shouldn't be comparing football coaches to Hitler. Its stupid and it needs to stop.

1. First, I used the analogy to describe the oppressive attitude exemplified by Belicheat. "Shut up about our cheating or we'll beat the crap out of you." What oppressive regime is fair game? Can I compare Belicheat to Saddam or Castro? "Shut up about our cheating or we'll throw you in the woodchipper" does have a ring to it. It's not my fault when posters can't look at an analogy and see the abstraction. What is the age when people can start thinking in the abstract? Five? Six? Do yourself a favor and NEVER watch Dennis Miller. Obviously, no NFL coach is mass murdering people and there will always be some ethnic or religious group that will claim that some analogy offends them. I have an "Irish background" and leprechans were originally a racial slur, but you don't hear me crying about the Celtics or the Fighting Irish and their use of leprechans. In fact, I've been know to enjoy a bowl of Lucky Charms now and again. When I think Hitler or Nazis Germany, I think oppression in general, not just the gas chambers. My great-grandfather fought in that war, so do I really need to ask a Jewish person for permission to make an analogy about Hitler or his regime?
2. After having been called a terrorist, an idiot and wishing injury to Patriot players, I find any offense taken by a Patriotfan to be hypocritical. You guys really need to learn to not dish it out if you can't take it.
Having said all that, I will lay off the Hilter comparisons for now, even though I think it's amusing that a bunch of tough talkers get so worked up over an insult to their coach.
