Hey, Antoine Wright is Poor man's acid trip Kobe Bryant.

He is very tough, good defensively, and still driving to the hoop,

he has the best +/- tonight, 15 points 7 rebounds 2 assists,

Rod Thorn has to prepare for the big money to stay him next season.

Jizzy, Wright is not a bust.

I still say that 3 games is not enough to offset 2 years worth of a reputation. That being said he's been playing great, and I'm getting ready to start eating my words. It's a delicious meal!

We can only offer Wright a starting salary of what his option would have been and that money will come from the MLE. We can only offer him 2.56 million to stay. He will probably see a 3 year 12 million dollar deal if he continues this output.

I guess it took the Nets not to pick up his option in order for Wright to show what he could really do! Nothing like a contract year to motivate a player.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there'll be enough money to keep him around. I hope I'm wrong.

With his emotions and confidence issues, it could change real fast. But for now, loving the way he's playing.

Hey we reap the benefits of his walk year, and we go searching for the replacement next summer. Someone else can commit a near MLE deal for him, I just don't see how he deserves an average of 4 million a year, given his first 2 seasons. He should have been motivated enough then. If he gets more money out of this season in his next contract, good for him. Just like Mikki, a career journeyman, has earned a nice contract based on one season of play.

Why are you convinced that this has to do with motivation? All reports indicated that he worked hard before last season, also. I think that it just took him a little while to "get it." He certainly seemed pretty motivated on defense last season, and motivated after the all-star break when he was playing pretty well. Remember, he's pretty young, despite his two years of NBA experience. He's 23 and a half.

Regardless, I don't know what he's worth on the open market. I think the Nets will resign him to a three-year, ten-million dollar contract or thereabouts.

How bout combine what both of you said...and add that to the fact that the Nets have changed the offense, and that it's benefitted Antoine ALOT..?

Put all those circumstances together, and you've got the great playing Antoine Wright we see this season.
