"But it's always a business. It's always there, but, I mean, I'm human, so I'm going to think about it. But when I'm playing ball, I'm playing ball."

He also knows things could be worse. In Chicago, Luol Deng reportedly turned down $57.5 million for 5 years and Ben Gordon rejected about $50 million for 5 years. Neither played up to their anticipated levels in the Bulls' 0-3 start, and they've had to cope with continuing speculation of possibly being included in a megatrade for the Lakers' Kobe Bryant.

"I've talked to [Deng and Gordon]," Iguodala said. "We know each other from the [same] draft. I e-mail them all the time, to see how things are going. Most of the time, it's just I want those guys to do well and they want me to do well, because [if that happens] everybody's value goes up." -- Philadelphia Daily News

Iggy will be fine, he deserves a big contract from whoever will give it to him. He just has to go out there and have fun, try not to think about the contract and what did or didnt happen. If the Sixers are going anywhere, they are going to do it on Iggy's back.

HAHAHA....Overrated?? He gaurds the opposing teams best player EVERY game. Just because he cant lock someone down every time he plays doesnt mean his D is overrated. He is without a doubt one of the better perimeter defenders in the NBA and one of the most well rounded players to-boot.

His man defense is overrated, severely.
Iguodala isn't a player a franchise should build a team around, he's not gonna carry any franchise, he's a solid side-kick to a superstar, which is why the Sixers blow so much ass (along with the severe lack of talent). Iguodala is turnover prone, takes too many chances on D (high steal numbers, skew the publics perception of those who don't watch), and needs to improve his shooting efficiency. Iguodala still has a tendency to do too much (like on defense), instead of just doing the simple things that work.
He's not a bad player, I do think he's pretty good, just overrated big time but he's not a guy that a franchise should build around. He's best suited as a 2nd or 3rd option. The Sixers are in enough financial shit as is, giving Dally a huge contract, if they give Iggy a huge contract, they will be building around Iggy & Dally. Nice core duo!

I am a huge Iggy fan, but I dont think he is overrated, because I dont think he is in that elite class of guys coming off their rookie scale. Iwould rank him in the 2nd tier, where most of the guys are this year. I agree that he is a #2 scorer and would flourish in that role. I think he deserves more than Gordon gets and probably about the same or a little less than Deng, because of the multiple things iggy can do.
Iggy can be a great defender, but I dont think he is ready to throw everything he has each possession on D and then have to do the same on O. If Iggy gets some help, from whoever that may be or wherever that may be, I think you will see him become a more efficient on ball defender.
I was just wondering your opinion on why he is overrated.

I dont think anyone ever claimed Igoudala to be a Superstar or even a number 1 option on any team. Hes rated at where he should be. Hes a good defender and a great all around player. He gets steals, Rebounds, Assists, and hes a solid shooter/scorer. Not an all-star yet, but hes young with loads of talent and athletisism.

I'm probably just bitter because I'm forced to watch 76ers games year round, and they suck so much ass.

I dunno, Iggy played some pretty tight D on Luol Deng last Friday night. Iggy was up in his grill the whole game.
