Mercer just defeated USC (#18) despite 32 points by OJ Mayo in his debut. USC was the home team, too.

There really arent that many elite teams... UNC should be very good and if Rush comes back healthy Kansas will be great, but I dont see many dominant teams. Im going to guess the top 10 changes a few times over this season.

SU's gonna upset every team out there.

I wanna see all the "elite-ish" teams lose a few times to crappy teams this year. that's always exciting.

Every college basketball season is a season of upsets. There are always one or two teams that go through the season with only a loss or two, but it's expected to see most top 25 teams have a couple of upsets on their record come tournament time.

You especially have to expect upsets this early in the season. For one, rankings at this point are based soley on expectations. A lot of teams are over/underrated and the rest of the season will bring more clarity as to who the top teams truly are. You also have to look at the new NBA age limit. Not only has it made it so that a lot of this years top teams (ie: USC) are led by inexperienced players, but it's also made it so that a lot of teams are starting to suffer more 1-and-done loss (ie: Ohio State).

Teams will start to be rated correctly (or at least more correctly) and they'll start to establish some sort of chemistry towards mid-season. Right now it's a little hasty to call this season a "season of upsets" though.

BTW - No one think the Tulane over Auburn upset is worth mentioning? [IMG]
