They get activated on deadline day

QUOTE

FOXBOROUGH - One year after scrambling to fill out their receiving corps, the Patriots find themselves in a much different situation. Already five deep and strong at the position, they further solidified the spot by activating 2006 second-round draft choice Chad Jackson off the physically unable to perform list yesterday.
Jackson, who played in 12 regular-season games and two playoff contests last year, tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the AFC Championship game Jan. 21 in Indianapolis.
He joins a group that includes Randy Moss, Donte' Stallworth, Wes Welker, Jabar Gaffney, and Kelley Washington.
The Patriots thought highly enough of Jackson to trade second- and third-round draft choices to move up and select him 36th overall. Facing high expectations in the wake of Deion Branch's departure, Jackson responded by having an up-and-down rookie season, finishing with 13 catches for 152 yards and three touchdowns.
The youngest player on the roster at 22, Jackson has seemingly benefited from the presence of Moss this year. At 6 feet 1 inch, 215 pounds, Jackson brings size and speed to the group, which has sorted itself out with Moss, Welker, and Stallworth earning the most playing time.

Good news I guess, it doesn't hurt to have more recievers out there, in case of an injury.
