Eto'o: Henry's Still Got It, But Barça Aren't Arsenal

QUOTE

Samuel Eto'o has told Thierry Henry's critics to back off and respect the French striker's approach to the game...
Barcelona forward Samuel Eto'o has leapt to the defence of his teammate Thierry Henry (pictured). The Frenchman has not yet won over all aspects of the blaugrana faithful, with some complaining about his goal tally or his place in the Barcelona tactical scheme. Eto'o, however, believes that such criticism is unwarranted. He told FeelFootball.com, "I don't think he is playing badly if he has scored five goals in 11 games. "We can't expect him to score three goals in every game. "I think it is lack of respect to question Henry." Cameroon international Eto'o's ire was raised further by the idea that Henry is somehow unable to reproduce the form that he showed at Arsenal prior to his injury and summer transfer. For Eto'o, a change in approach is just part and parcel of switching clubs. "Barcelona are not Arsenal and don't play like Arsenal," he intoned. "Our football philosophy is very different. If people want to see the Henry of Arsenal they should start signing Arsenal players. "For now, they will see the Henry of Barcelona, and I am sure he will give us a lot of joy." Eto'o, 26, has only played one Liga game this season due to injury, while Henry is coach Frank Rijkaard's most-used striker in domestic competition so far.
