This is the battle of the rebounders: Chris Kaman and Zydrunas Ilgauskas, ranked 3rd and 5th in the League respectively in rebounds. Something has got to give. One of these two will most likely dominate the glass, and whichever it is will propel their team towards victory. Both teams have so far relied heavily on the pair. who have so far come up trumps. If one of them has an off-day, I don't see their team winning tonight. If they both play as they have been this season, we could be in for a great show of rebounding ability. All the neutrals will be hoping for the latter, whereas Clippers and Cavaliers fans will be hoping that their Center comes up big. This might not be the highest scale matchup, since Maggette and James will be lining up against each other, but it could be the most crucial, as without the ball on offense, neither of the stars could do much.

At that is why there is so much pressure on Chris Kaman and Ilgauskas tonight. Keep your eyes glued to that matchup.

[*]Contain LeBron James- LeBron has had a night off, and had afairly relaxing game against the Kings where he was not required to go for huge numbers by his standards. He knows that this, and the next game tomorrow, are of great importance, so will put everything into them. If the Clippers can stop him, they will be very likely to get their fifth win of the season.

[*]Playa fast-paced game- The Cavaliers will struggle when playing a fast-paced game, since they have a very slow front-court, and a relatively slow backcourt. It is possibly only LeBron James who is capable of a run'n'gun style game, but then he is capable of anything. The Clippers might not be the best team at playing fast-paced basketball, but they ought to fair better than their counterparts from Cleveland if such a game is played.
[*]Make those Free Throws!!!-There was a slight improvement by the Cavaliers Friday as they shot just over 70% en route to their 2 point victory. Thisshows how important the free throws are, because if they shot a similar percentage to what they shot in Utah, they would have lost again. Thereis a fine line between winning and losing in basketball, and oftenit is the Free Throw Line.

[*]Control the tempo- This is a recurring point for the Cavaliers, especially against West Coast opposition. If they are to defeat these teams, they need to ensure they control the tempo to be the way they want it. they are, however, capable of playing fasterm if only through LeBron James.
The Cavs have won 5 of the games, averaging 94.9 points, whilst the Clippers have won 3, averaging 92.4 points. LeBron James averages just 19.9 points due to a woeful 4 point performance in 34 minutes in his sophomore season (granted, he also had 6 boards and 8 assists, but by his standards, it was a poor performance). In addition, he averaged 6.5 rebounds and 6.3 asissts.

Larry Hughes is listed as Questionable for tonight's game by CBS, usually meaning that he will not play much, if at all. The Cavaliers are playing better than usual on their West Coast road trip (2-2 so far) but that could all change if they lose the remaining two games. They will be fired up for this game with the knowledge that if they win this, they cannot go less than .500 for the road trip. Nevertheless, I can imagine them having trouble at the Free Throw line tonight, and losing as a direct result.

Tough game for you guys Chingy. On the lighter side, its the end of the west coast trip.

If James goes for 40+, the Cavs will win.

I wouldn't say LeBron has to score 40+. He has to play well, sure, but he won't have to score 40. So long as he plays to his averages of around 30-7-7, that'll be fine. It will probably mean that he either scores or assists around 50 points, which should be enough to give the Cavs a good drive forward. I'd be surprised if Gibson, Pavs, Gooden, Ilgauskas and Devin Brown don't combine for at least 50 points. That would mean that the Cavs' total would already be 80 without contributions over and above those tallies.

Well ok, I take that back, I'll say that he has to dominate to win this game, we've seen that the rest of the Cavs alone will not win a game, yeah Devin Brown made some shots during the game in Sactown but it was LeBron who put the game away, so I actually expect a big game from the King tonight.

I wish I could watch it. Problem is mainly time zones, seeing as it would start at (I think) 2:30 am here.

Yea it would 2:30 there. So usually you can watch the home games since they start 7 to 7:30 pm and that would be 12am or 12:30am. but then you have to stay until around 3 in the morning to watch the whole game.
