'They ain't got no bigs,'' Wallace said after the Bulls' 97-93 win. ''Not to take anything away from the guys they have, but, I mean, Joe [Smith] doesn't really know their defensive schemes yet. Tyrus [Thomas], to me, is more of a [small forward] playing [power forward]. Body [Ben Wallace] is good, but he don't get no burn [playing time]. That's their loss. I just took advantage of it.''

I've heard someone say that before, but it's pretty interesting to hear Sheed say it after scoring at will but losing.

That quote from Sheed is interesting.

It has to be especially humiliating for Big Ben to be benched against his ex-mates.

Also, those guys love Big Ben and can't flat out say he sucks this year.

And yes, Joe Smith is a slight power forward and TT is more of a SF.

So what if Tyrus Thomas is more of a small forward? If he is capable of giving us 19/14, he'll put us in great shape to win. He also can continue to gain weight as he gets a few more years under his belt. At 6' 11", Sheed is among the taller power forwards in the league.

I think the issue is that he's a string bean who gets pushed around a lot. I think without much weight or bulk from our forwards, we're going to have a pretty hard time consistently winning the positioning and rebounding aspects of the game, and without winning those, we're going to have a hard time winning games.

Tyrus is enough of a powerforward as he needs to be. The problem, imo, is that Aaron Gray is our only actual center. Noah is a stringbean, Wallace is short and can't jump.

We need to draft an actual center or sign one that can start next to Tyrus. We need good, solid, interior defense, and a guy that holds position in the paint and can rebound.

The same can be said about Shawn Marion, and last time I checked, they were a pretty good team.

Marion has developed quite a rep as a guy who has difficulties when the game slows down a bit in the playoffs. I'd wager he's a fair amount stronger than Ty as well.

I don't watch a lot of Bulls basketball but this caught me. I never remember Tyrus Thomas in college at LSU being able to play on the perimeter. He is athletic, he can get rebounds and he can block shots. Thats well sums up his game in a nutshell.

To play the SF especially in the NBA, you have to be able to shoot the ball from distance. I just went back and looked at all the Bulls shot charts for the last few games and low and beholdThomas hasn't made more then one shot outside of 10 feet in any single game. Thats right, no threes. No mid-range game.

How in the world does Ben Wallace call Tyrus Thomas a SF when the kid can'tmake a 17-18 footer to save his life?

Why does a SF have to make outside shots?

Bulls play Ben Wallace at C where he isn't much of an offensive threat. Put an offensive player there, and the SF slot can be one that's primarily there for defense.

Tho Thomas seems to score pretty good on putbacks.

Not saying he's a great shooter, but in the Philly game he definitely hit more than one jumper
