NBA: NEW ORLEANS (5-2) at NEW JERSEY (4-2)

Carter-less Nets host Paul, Hornets

New Orleans (5-2) at New Jersey (0-0) 7:30 pm EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Netswill have find someone to step up and fill the void left byVince Carter.

The shorthanded Nets will try to bounce back without Carter onMonday when they host Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets.

New Jersey dropped a 112-101 decision Saturday to the new-lookBoston Celtics and lost Carter to a badly sprained ankle. Notimetable has been set for Carter, who has led the team inscoring the previous two campaigns.

With Carter sidelined, Richard Jefferson, Jason Kidd and AntoineWright will have to take their offensive output to anotherlevel. The 6-7 Jefferson has been almost unstoppable, averaging26.0 points this season - the sixth-best in the league.

New Orleans put an end to its two-game slide with Sunday's 93-72victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. Paul and David Westpoured in 16 points each for the Hornets.

A third-year guard, Paul leads the NBA with 11.1 assists pergame.

The Nets and Hornets split their two meetings last season, withboth winning away from home. However, New Orleans coach ByronScott is 1-5 all-time against his former club.

I am still awaiting Boki to step up and shoot more than abysmal 36.5%. It's a must win for us and is going to be tough.

I think the Hornets are going to be focused on stopping RJ, so it's time for Antoine Wright to take it to another level.

Agreed. If he doesn't get more meaningful minutes this game, I'll be pissed.

(Btw, your posting looks better when you use grammar, spelling, and punctuation.)

This game is going to be challenging to say the very least. Hopefully the way the offense performed after VC's injury wasn't just a product of the Celtics turning the intensity level down a bit. If Wright can step up we'll be in pretty good shape

So assuming Wright takes Vince's spot in the starting lineup...what do you think the rest of the rotation will be? I'm assuming Boki becomes the first player off the bench, but then what?

Re: NBA: NEW ORLEANS (5-2) at NEW JERSEY (4-2)

You'd have to go with a 3 man wing rotation. Wright, RJ, Boki. RJ's going to get a bump to maybe 40 minutes. That leaves 56 to split between Wright and Boki. Wright can see up wards of 35 minutes since he will be starting. We will be in trouble if those guys get into any foul trouble.
