Nov 12 - Despite being sidelined, Elton Brand has remained optimistic about his progress and how his team has looked. With the Clippers starting the season 4-0 and not losing until Friday in Detroit, Brand practically offered a big "told you so," saying he knew his team could win without him.

"I'm not surprised at all," Brand said Sunday. "Like I said, go back to my quotes, I knew the depth we had on this team. So I'm not surprised at all. If we were really young, it would surprise me. But we have vets who know how to play."

The process to recover from a torn Achilles is a long one, and he will be out until at least February. In the meantime, he's enjoying watching his teammates win.

"I love it," Brand said. "A lot of non-Clipper fans around were saying you're not going to beat Indiana, who was undefeated. So I'm like, `Take that!' I love every win. Guys are playing great." -- Los Angeles Daily News

Again, I dont even see how it is possible for him to recover enough to play in February. I would think April if he is going to come back this year.
