He was tentative at times because of his surgically repaired left shoulder but was relieved after he took contact.

"These guys are big ? they move quick," Odom said. "If I lean the wrong way -- that's what I was worried about. I passed the test."

Odom also said he simplified his game somewhat and just "let the game come to me. I wasn't going to go between my legs and try to get fancy and take long balls. Just play basketball." -- Orange County Register

It's going to be less physically demanding on Odom at small forward this season. He played great in his first game back. He said he's on a mission to become an All-Star this year and has been shaving stars on his head to remind him of his goal.

I was at the game Friday. 6 rows away baby! Best seats I've ever had.
Anyway, I loved what I saw from Odom. He was killing Craig Smith inside and was using some great post movies. Hope he can stay healthy as well as consistant. I am confident he will, playing SF.

When I was watchimg the game I liked how he used his left hand to extend while driving towards the basket nobody touched him. If the Lakers play like that every time then I think that they have a shot at being in the top 5 of the West.
