Cech: It's Too Early To Judge Grant

QUOTE

Petr Cech feels that Chelsea are still in with a great chance of catching Arsenal and Manchester United in the Premiership, although he admits that the next two months could prove crucial. He also seems to feel that the effects of Avram Grant's appointment have yet to be proved one way or the other...
According to Chelsea stopper Petr Cech, the title race is far from reaching a conclusion, although by January things may be a lot clearer. The former Rennes 'keeper told idnes.cz, "We are definitely going to make it tough [for Arsenal and Manchester United]. "The crucial period will be around Christmas time, when there are so many matches. A lot gets decided around then." Whether or not new coach Avram Grant is the man to take the Blues forward, though, remains to be seen, at least in the eyes of the Czech international. "How do we get on with him? It's hard to say after such a short spell," he said. "When Jose Mourinho left, that was an extremely emotional time for some players." Cech, 25, may still have the best days of his career to come, and some have speculated that they may not be with Chelsea. However, he's quick to deny that a move is on his mind - in the immediate future, at least. "I've been very happy at Chelsea so far and I've begun to fall in love with the Premier League," he insisted. "But if Barcelona were to show an interest then, yes, that would certainly be worth thinking about." Cech closed by saying that he'd be wearing his protective headgear until "at least the end of the year", at which time both his head and the Premiership table might be in somewhat more definitive shape.
