The Boston Celtics announced Tuesday that they have assigned rookie forward Brandon Wallace to their NBA Development League affiliate Utah Flash. Wallace is the team’s first assignment to the NBA Development League this season and the fourth NBA player to be assigned to the Development League this season.

Wallace averaged 1.2 rebounds in 4.7 minutes during preseason and has not appeared in a game for the Celtics during the regular season. He averaged 4.2 points and 5.0 rebounds in 22.4 minutes during the 2007 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

This is a good move. He's obviously not going to get any run with the team, other than scrimmaging at practice. Heading down to Utah and getting some game action is exactly what he needs, and it'll be interesting to see how well he does.

    Good luck, Brandon!

I assume it only took this long because this was the first day teams were allowed to send people to the NBDL.

This is horrible news for David_Ortiz, who was hoping Wallace would be inserted in the starting lineup by the end of the week.

It's not about location. The Utah Flash is our assigned D-League affiliate.
