Nov 14 - The big man (Ben Wallace), who is muscular but not really that tall -- he is 6 inches shorter than Zydrunas Ilgauskas, 9 inches shorter than Yao Ming -- is playing so ineffectively that you have to wonder if he hasn't aged in dog years since coming to the Bulls in July 2006.

The four-time All-Star, five-time All-Defensive Team member and four-time Defensive Player of the Year has been slowed slightly by a twisted ankle, and after practice he said: ''It's getting better -- I wouldn't say it's 100 percent. But it always feels better when you're winning.''

But how can the Bulls win when their superstar free-agent acquisition isn't stopping the other teams' offenses and is throwing up his own offensive numbers that are simply horrible? -- Chicago Sun-Times

Jeez Ben, you are basically admitting that this ankle injury excuse is a bunch of booyah.
The guy just seems done right now. I don't think the ankle is to blame.

Figures the bulls would get him when he sucks lol. I'm sure the ankle is probably a problem, but christ, admit it to the coach and take time off. Don't go out and there and suck because you have too much pride.

I do indeed hope he puts together a couple of nice performances and declares his ankle 100%. That's make him somewhat tradeable, and that'd make my day.

Wallace is just getting old for basketball. With this ankle injury it dampers with his play, but he needs to develop something more than rebounds and blocks...some effective post offense would help: I have not been impressed.

This is what you get for signing a guy who was over 30 and relied entirely on athletic ability for everything he did.

The real problem with age is that the minor injuries take longer to heal. At some point, 10 games into the season, you do have to wonder, tho.

Wonder why the Bulls don't have a quality backup?

When you spend $60M, you expect the guy to play.

When you spend $60M, you best kick the tires a bit and look at the reliability ratings.
