Nov 14 - The Nets' shooting star shuffled around the gym yesterday in socks and sandals, his sprained right ankle taped tightly and his face frozen in the default position of beaming geniality.

But Vince Carter had no answer as to when he might actually play again, and the Nets left him behind yesterday, when they flew to Boston. There, they figure to unleash Sean Williams for more minutes against the Celtics tonight.

"I don't want to put any pressure on myself," Carter replied, when the timetable question came up the first of four times. "I want to be 100 percent, since we're in the beginning of the season. When I come back, I don't want to keep worrying about the ankle bothering me, sore, stiffening up, whatever that means." -- Newark Star-Ledger

I agree with him. VC is known to be injury prone, so he should take off the time he needs. This way when the season really counts, he won't blame his ankle for the 4-16 shooting.

He is the only Net that never missed a game last season.

If you want know the truth, RJ and Krstic is really injury prone in the last two seasons.

and it was rj blaming his ankle for subpar performances last season...(though the ankle really was bothering him...it was a grade 2)

It's his ankle, his hamstring, knees, back, thumb, wrist and contact lenses. Vince needs a cyborg body.
