Nov 14 - J.R. Smith credits assistant coach Tim Grgurich for helping him see the light. And that sheds light on the fact that Smith's recent streak of success has stemmed not only from Carmelo Anthony's and Allen Iverson's pep talks, but from organization-wide attention.

George Karl admits he still is steamed at Smith's failures, but remains of the mind-set that the 22-year-old can overcome a spotty past to perform well as a player and person in the future.

"We've all touched him and talked to him," Karl said. "I've stayed away from elaborating. He knows I'm angry and frustrated. But I think some of the players have been good with him. Coaches, and the front office has been good. We all feel he's a very talented player, and if he fails, we all fail." -- Denver Post
