QUOTE

Rotoworld sources are relaying that Detroit radio station 1270 AM reported Wednesday that the Lakers and Pistons had a "done deal" as of 6:45 PM on Tuesday that would have sent Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Amir Johnson and a first-round pick to the Lakers for Kobe Bryant.

Both teams had reportedly agreed to the deal, but Bryant alledgedly vetoed it with his no-trade clause, apparently not wanting to go to a depleted Detroit team. It will be interesting to see how the Pistons' players mentioned in the deal react to this news. Nov. 14 - 7:39 pm et

Source: Rotoworld via 1270am

These two teams play each other on Friday. Should be interesting to see how the players respond to this.

Prince and Hamilton for Kobe. Fair deal, in my opinion. Along with Amir and a first rounder, could be good for the Lakers. I hate this Kobe veto crap. Like when is Buss gonna grow some balls and tell Kobe he is the GM. I know Kobe has his no trade clause, but this is some stupid stuff. He has vetoed everything. I think he just just wait till he can opt out.

Kobe is starting to make me sick.
This guy wants to go into the perfect situation which if he gets his head out of his ass will find that every team in the league is flawed even the Spurs to a degree.

I'm glad he vetoed this deal because the Lakers wouldn't have any caproom available to rebuild around Bynum. The Lakers would be pretty much in the same position they're in now without much to look forward to. Rip is 29 years old and Prince is 27. Lakers need to get back players under 25 if they want rebuild around Bynum.

how can he win with 2 really old guys in billups and rasheed??? imo kobe wants to be teamed up witha premiere PF...
and im sure he also vetoed it since the lakers are starting to come around "personality wise imo"

I'm glad that Kobe vetoed the deal. I think that Kobe wants to bea Lakers and if he does then it's good for the Lakers because they need him. I think that there would have been some problems if Kobe went to Detroit. I think that Kobe went to Detroit he would of gone to a struggling team.

If I were Kobe I'd veto that deal too. I mean Kobe, Billups and Rasheed Wallace ain't gonna get it done. Why should he not use every right he has to get the best deal possible for himself?

I know this would never, ever happen, but I kinda wish the Lakers would trade Odom and Waltonfor some young busts (like the Kwame deal), and make the team suck just to see Kobe squirm. He's a selfish bitch and he deserves it.

In all seriousness though, Kobe Bryant has three rings. Plenty of guys in this league don't even have one. Now hisdutyis to help the rebuildingLakers get back to prominence.Kobe needs to sprout a dick and shut his goddamn mouth.

The Lakers GM are way more mature to do that to Kobe. Yes he talks alot, but when he steps onto the court he still gives it his all. And Kobe wouldn't be talking if Kupchak had tried to bring in players to make the team better like he promised too.

Anyway, I'm pretty skeptical of the truth of this deal anyway. At this point, why would the two teams be agreeing to a deal before getting Kobe's buy-in in the first place? I know if I was a team inquiring about Kobe, I'd want to hear what he has to say before I was throwing my guys' names out there in a trade scenario to be shot down.

Chad Ford reported this deal was a lie in his chatwrap today from the conversations he had with people in the Pistons organization. He said there was interest from Detroit back in October and alluded this story was simply a retread of an older one. Radio stations pull this crap all the time to boost ratings.
