Schuster: Robinho Will Mature

QUOTE

Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster believes that Robinho will soon grow as a person, and that Iker Casillas is the best goalkeeper in the world...
In an interview today, Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster focused on the tribulations of Robinho's personal life and the on-field form of goalkeeper Iker Casillas. The Brazilian midfield has been criticised for his conduct while away on international duty with his country, having returned late for a vital match with his club side. However, Schuster is prepared to forgive and forget. "It was right in this case... to be against punishment," he began. "A person may fail once or twice, but not every year or so. "But we try to lead players, especially young people, to remember where they are and what they represent. "We won't prohibit going out, as it's good and can be necessary, but it must always be done whilst remembering the club." Schsuter is confident that there will be no repeat performance as Robinho prepares for a life-changing alteration of circumstances. "He'll soon be a father and will assume a very important responsibility," he explained. "I prefer players that are married with children, but I know that it can't always be the case." "I fear those that are young, tall, blonde and blue-eyed," he laughed. Robinho is one of a small group of Brazilians at the Bernabeu, which Schuster warns can prove dangerous if not properly managed. "Clans of Argentines, Brazilians or Dutch... can be harmful to the team in terms of sharing responsibilities when there are losses," he said. "So we try to open these groups," he added, saying that part of the away game ritual at Madrid is to have the players mix. "It's very nice that a team can rely on its squad if it has the best players i nthe world, but that's not always enough to guarantee success," he added, although he lamented that some players are "selfish." Still, he had nothing but good words for Iker Casillas, the international goalkeeper. Upon learning of Tottenham Hotspur's alleged interest in the stopper, he said, "He's the best in the world and will be here for many years," although he did thank Spurs for their "recognition."
