"But the main thing is Shaq has got to be self-motivated. He has got to be willing and ready to do it." -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel

[*]If he wants to jostle the Heat -- and he insists he does -- nothing Pat Riley could do would have the impact of bringing Shaquille O'Neal to the bench. He could take starters Udonis Haslem, Jason Williams and Ricky Davis out of the lineup in combination and it wouldn't carry the impact substituting Alonzo Mourning for O'Neal would when starters are introduced. -- Palm Beach Post
[*]Don't use O'Neal for tonight's opening tip. Start Alonzo Mourning in his place.
That's right. Sit O'Neal. Bench him. Not for the entire night, but for the first six minutes, three more than it takes the veteran center to accrue a couple of careless fouls, anyway. Take a stand against O'Neal's increasing tendency to stand still while rebounds carom away and opponents blur by. -- South Florida Sun-Sentinel

This is deja-vu for us Laker fans. Kobe called out Shaq and that's when their relationship went into the toilet. It will be interesting to see how Shaq deals with Wade being publicly critical of him.

Shaq should be a man and retire. He's set for life with the money he's got already.
Go be a sheriff. haha

He's always gone through a funk during the regular season and loses interest in the games. A lot of internal strife comes out when your team is losing and Shaq can handle it two ways. Make a smartass remark back at Wade or shoulder the blame and then work harder on the court.
The Heat have a lot of cap room next summer to retool the roster around Shaq and Wade. They just need a shakeup with the starting lineup and Riley needs to start cracking down on the knuckleheads on his team.

DMX said it best... Same ole Shhh dog, just a different day.
What is Shaq doing? He had to come in ready to go and carry the team until Wade was recovered enough to help out. What a way to start a season.
