Pruitt staying put

QUOTE

Despite some recent injuries, Celtics director of basketball operations Danny Ainge said his team is not looking to fill its open roster spot right now. He also said there are no plans on sending rookie guard Gabe Pruitt to the NBA Development League right now to play for Utah Flash. Pruitt said hasn't worried about playing in the D-League for the Celtics' affiliate since he wants to do whatever they believe is best for him.

"It makes me feel good knowing that they have confidence in me," Pruitt said. "I'm here and obviously I'm here for a reason. So I'm just waiting my turn right now. Guys are hurt right now. I have to pay more attention, get the reps in, know what the guys are doing and see what the coaches want so I can execute in games when I get my turn."

The one negative for Pruitt is that there aren't many practices during the season for him to work on his game. Prior to next Wednesday's game against Golden State, the Celtics are only expected to practice once on Tuesday. To keep his conditioning and development on track, Pruitt is doing extra basketball drills after practices and shootarounds and before game and conditions after games.

"I do a lot of shooting, a lot of conditioning," said Pruitt, who had played only 6 minutes entering last nights game against Miami. "I get a lot of reps in and get my body in shape so when I do get in the game I won't be tired. I get in game shape, keep my body ready and do game-type situations by playing 1-on-1 and 2-on-2."

    Glad that he's training.

Who do you think we'll get to fill that open roster spot?

Thankfully there's no chance of that happening as he's taken Ryan Gomes' spot in the rotation.

It was all a smokescreen to get The Big 3! And anyway, those guys plus Pierce (or even without Pierce for about 22 games) were able to win some games. Add whats-his-name to the mix and you get...

#1AntoineWalkerFan, I just want to let you know that I've always been a huge Antoine fan myself. I don't know if I'm quite as crazy as you, but Toine was my favorite Celtic for a while. Love his energy, passion.

But I made a Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker mix (video) a few months ago, I just thought you might like to check it out:

Well, the kids played .114 ball last year, and they're playing .144 ball with 'Toine. So I guess he does make his teammates better!!!

I have to agree. Even after I posted it and re-read, I thought it was weak. I should of just stuck with:
