Some things I've noticed last night:
Bynum needs to put more strength in his shot. Most of his hook shot only get to the front of the rim. He also needs to be patient and find a better shot. Samb and Johnson blocked most of his shots. But I did like how he wasn't afriad to shoot it and slam it down a couple of times.
Kobe also played fantastic defense on Rip. This is why he's been on the NBA defensive first team for the past couple of years. And Rip is one of the hardest players to guard in the league.
We also played great defense on Rasheed Wallace forcing him to shoot some bad shots in the game.
And how does Kobe swat Duncan and Yao but end up getting posterized by Maxiell?

I saw the whole game and thought it was going to be a great one before it started. I wasn't disappointed.
Lakers pretty much controlled the game, but Detroit was never out of it. Detroit was suffering enough injuries, and then Rip's foul trouble, to have to play their reserves most of the night, and even deeper on their bench.
Kobe looked like he had his mind set on being a distributor all game, and was excellent at it. What can you say about Odom's game last night but... WOW!

Kobe's shot wasn't falling until the end of the 4th quarter. I don't get why they don't run the high iso/pick for Kobe as much this game. They killed the Rockets with this play.
Odom's nice coast to coast layup reminded me of Magic Johnson.

The game was great. Bynum was impressive. The main thing is he is not passive. He's aggressive, chasing down boards, and contesting shots. Yes, he got blocked a number of times, but you noticed he was smothered with like 4 guys on him causing the multiple blocks. He can't be guarded one on one. Personally I like that baby hook he uses. Its unblockable.
Lamar was fantastic. He had a mountain of Off Rebounds and it really kept the Lakers in the game with them shooting under .250 for 3 quarters. Kobe showed that he can do much more than shoot and he kept Rip in check and kept up with him as RIP worked th screens.
Farmar really wants to stay. Those steals and treys at the end of the game put the nail in the coffin for Detroit. Its his time to shine.
If the Lakers can stay healthy and keep up the hustle, they can beat any team out there. The depth of the team is great.

Eventually he'll be impossible to push around once he learns how to use his size and strength effectively and adds more muscle to his trunk. Bynum needs to learn how to recover off a block shot, grab the lose ball and go right back up with it. Shaq used to get swatted, but he'd just go right back up and mash it.
I hope Kobe realizes his teammates are good enough offensively for him to focus more on shutdown defense. He frustrated Rip Hamilton so much Rip got whistled for a technical foul.
This was one of those games you become a fan of Odom and wonder why can't he do this everynight?
Brian Cook needs to be kept in the doghouse another poor performance by him. I think the Lakers need to give his playing time to Mihm and Radman exclusively. Radman is shooting 48% from behind the arc this year. Cook is -33.1 +/- differential.
How many more games before Jordan Farmar moves into the starting lineup?

Going off-topic for a second, I think we're one of the few teams that can match the Celtics big three. We have a combination of Bynum/Kwame/Turiaf/Mihm on Garnett, Odom on Pierce and Kobe on Allen. I think we'll be the first team to beat them this season.

I cant help but wonder what tines would be like if kwame was boozer or baron davis instead ... LOL
remember the jazz ans warriors offered injury plagued davis and boozer for caron?
Fisher - Kobe - Odom - Boozer - Bynum... sigh LOL
